Creating a Module Application to run in FS2004

Recommended Posts

Hello, this is slightly off topic so please bear with me. I recently purchased Simcharts 3.0, a navigation chart viewer, which has two core components: Simview which is a standalone chart viewer and Simtrack which is a module that runs in FS2004.

Simtrack has a lot of limitations (it can only view certain charts and is limited in size) whereas Simview has no limitations the only one being it has to be run as a separate program.

Is there anyway I could somehow get Simview to run as a module that had a sizeable window ? A good example of this would be the Airport Chart Viewer 5.0 which lets you view taxiways at all of the FS2004 airports. It runs as a module and has a fully sizeable window.

Thus, the question is: can any application be made to run as a module that would run in FS2004 in full screen mode without the user having to task switch? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Not without it being written that way, no.

What is wrong with it as a separate program? I often wish FSNav was a separate program, as then I'd run it on a separate PC. As it is I don't use it as my FS PC is totally occupied in providing the scenery view only.

No, not without the program sources and a deal of programming skills plus suitable language tools. Sorry.

Pete
