Flitestar, GPSout and WideFS"

Mij brother has asked me see if someone knows what to do.

He has FS9, GPSout and WideFS server on computer 1

He has Flitemap and Widefs client on computer 2

FSMoving Map works fine.

In the documents it says:

Alternatively, if you use WideFS you can tell GPSout to send the GPS

data to the Client PCs. You will need to configure those in the

WideClient.ini files. The question is how?

He cannot get Flitestar to work. Basically he needs to know what has to be put in the gpsout.ini (computer 1)and wideclient.ini on computer 2. or whatever is needed. His English is not enough to get it right.

Does anyone know the essential line(s) in the respective ini files?

If you could post them here he would be very happy.

Thanks for your time and effort.

Ah, by reading the WideFS document, and finding this section:

GPSout relay facility

WideClient will now receive GPS data from my GPSout module installed in the Server’s FS, and relay it to a local COM port. To do this you need to use GPSout 2.58 or later in the FS PC with its port to “WideFS”. Then, in the client’s WideClient INI file add this section:

[GPSout]

Port=COMn

Speed=n

... with, of course, the correct Port and Speed for the local connection.

Note that you can use the freeware Virtual Serial Port program (provided in the lGPSout package). This way you do not actually need any real COM ports to support a moving map program on the Client PC. If fact you can now use them on a Network with no actual serial cables involved.

You still need to run and configure the twin virtual ports, of course, using the other freeware provided in the GPSout ZIP.

Pete
