md11nlm
Being an old fuggy duggie, I enjoy railroading, but steam as a child was rare, until in 1962 saw a CB&Q 5632 steam (4-8-4 Northern) exursion (sic) railfan train pulling through Pacific Junction, IA, after hiking from Council Bluffs (18 miles) overnight. Must have been 3,000 waiting for this steamer, fortunately my cousin and I ran into some neighbors and gave us a lift back.....we fell asleep soundly and sunburned.... The noise and smoke was pure music. You understand if I envy you. Let us in on the details. Please :D All the best to you, Peter
