No, FS doesn't seem to make these available directly. But your title says you can't find it in the FSUIPC Axis Assignments list. Are you really sure? Where are you looking?

Just go to FSUIPC's axis assignments, and assign your axis to Rudder Trim.

2- Is there a way to have a rudder trim reset (neutral) button in FS 2004 & FSX

Yes, that too. In FSX you can simply assign the button to "Rudder Trim Set" with a parameter of 0. In FS2004 you will have to use the FSUIPC control "Offset float64 set/1000" with an offset of x2EC0 and a parameter of 0.

Tried your suggestions but FSUIPC can not recognize the Y-rotation axis knob (it is on top of my throttle) of my X52Pro , all other axes recognized properly by FSUIPC but Y-Rotation axis (I want to assign this axis for rudder trimming)....?

Hi cencog,

It may be the 5th axis (of 6). If so, FS will set the Sensitivity to 0 by default. It can be assigned, but it won't actually move anything and it won't respond in FSUIPC since it's being seen from inside FS itself.

Go into the FS Sensitivity and Null Zone screen and check it there. All the Null Zone sliders should be fully left, all the Sensitivity sliders fully right. The dialog only shows three axes at a time usually, but there is a scroll bar that that will bring the other axes into view. If it's the 5th axis problem, that should fix it up.

Hope this helps!

Is this in FSUIPC3 or FSUIPC4? In FSUIPC3 I use the standard Windows joystick API, which only recognises 6 axes (XYZRUV). In FSUIPC4 (i.e. on FSX) I use DirectInput, so all axes recognised by FSX will be recognised also by FSUIPC4 -- up to 8 of them instead of 6.

FS2004 & FSUIPC version 3.75 unfortunately :(

Okay, in that case the only way is by assigning the axis in FS to some axis control you don't need, for example, Propeller Pitch 4. Then look up whichever control you assigned it to in my FS2004 Controls List (available on the Schiratti download web page) to get the number of that control.

Look in your FSUIPC.INI file in the [JoystickCalibration] section, and find the line

RudderTrimControl=0

Change the 0 to the number of the control you assigned.

Then calibrate the rudder trim in the FSUIPC calibration page.

Which part confuses you? Perhaps you should please (please)_ read the User documentation first? There's even pictures in there, directed specifically at "newbies". I really cannot offer the same level of documentation here!!!

If you cannot see the helpful pictures, load up FS2004 and do it there. Just go to FSUIPC options (ALT M F in FS2004), then select "Buttons and Switches" tab, then press your button, then select Assign to Control (right-hand-side), then find the "Offset float64 set ..." control in the drop down, set the Offset and the Parameter.

If you'd bothered to go and look you'd have found all this really easily. Crying about it "as a newbie" without trying to help yourself at all is not going to solve anything. :-(

Sorry for annoyance Pete , everything is ok now ...I didn't understand the "Offset float64 set/1000" line as a control command in FS 2004 at first ...After your brief explanation I have found it in FSUIPC drop down menu & everything resolved ...Thx a lot & really sorry for annoyance ...

Good, glad you sorted it. Not annoyed so much as a little exasperated at times! ;-) (and f course I am not renowned for my patience ;-) ).
