remind Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Hi all, Any PFC (Precision Flight controls) users here. Twice in last last two days on different created flights, the default airbus 321 in FSX has after say 20 to 30 odd minutes of flying, had it's throttles locked at full throttle. Moving throttle levers in my Cirrus II PFC console didnt change throttle position neither did pressing F1 or F2 on the keyboard, which kind of makes me think it is a FSX error and not a PFC or FSUIPC module. I am using registered FSUIPC4 4.20 and PFC module V 2.30 TIA and Happy New Year Phil
Pete Dowson Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Any PFC (Precision Flight controls) users here. Yes, I am a "big" PFC user -- all my stuff is PFC. Thast's why I wrote the PFC driver for FS. ;-) Twice in last last two days on different created flights, the default airbus 321 in FSX has after say 20 to 30 odd minutes of flying, had it's throttles locked at full throttle. The FSX Airbus has its own in-built Fly By Wire. I don't know a lot about it I'm afraid, but I do know the throttle is not directly controlled by any joystick input. The latter is used as a "guide" but the Airbus makes its own mind up from that. The best way to eliminate external problems is to re-test with a more "normal" aircraft first, say the 737. One thing that comes to mind, though, is pitot or other instrument disablement through freezing. Did you check to make sure pitot heat was enabled (it should be on ALL the time). also anti-icing in most conditions this time of year, and always in or near clouds. Moving throttle levers in my Cirrus II PFC console didnt change throttle position neither did pressing F1 or F2 on the keyboard, which kind of makes me think it is a FSX error and not a PFC or FSUIPC module. It must definitely be FSX, then, but it may not be an error at all in the program but an operational error. Check everything you are doing and make sure it isn't pilot error, which does sound more likely from your description). I am using registered FSUIPC4 4.20 and PFC module V 2.30 The FSX version of the PFC driver (PFCFSX) is at version 4.30. The 2.30 version is for FS9 and before. Regards Pete
remind Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 Hi Pete and a Happy 2008 to you and thanks for reply. Firstly, note my typo, I am using PFC dll version 4.30 which is correct for FSX. Yeah it is a stange one, doesn't happen with 737-800 or 747-400. Never happened before till now. I have the flight it eventually happens in saved, I load it again and see what I can work out. I'll see if I can set autopilot if it happens again and see if AP speed set will adjust throttle. I'll also start a new fresh flight with the Airbus and see how that goes. Cheers Phil
