Pete Dowson Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 when i start my fs9 and tries to start the pmdg 747 its says that my fsuipc is to old and says i need fsuipc V3.48 or later.were can i find the fsuipc V3.40?? You can't. And why would you want to use an OLDER version than it asks for, when it specifically says 3.48 or later? The current version for FS9 is 3.75 and it is available as usual from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson, as all my stuff has been for the last 10-12 years. No earlier version should be used, no earlier version is supported. is it a free ware? No, but you don't need to pay for what PMDG needs it for as they have a license. Pete
vincent3105 Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 Pete, I had a query regarding FSUIPC. I wanted to build an application which would track the airplane and the airports to which it flies, in other words interact with FS 2004 application. I have seen applications using FSUIPC and doing the same. What does it take to do one similar application? I was thinking of developing the same to help a couple of friends who have a vision to make a Virtual Airline and this tool was to be the flight tracking software. Do I need to buy FSUIPC for the same or is it possible that I can develop it using the free FSUIPC without registration. The above said application will be free and will not be sold at any cost. Thanks,
Pete Dowson Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 What does it take to do one similar application? Some programming skills, a software development tool (compiler etc), and the FSUIPC SDK -- see http://www.schiratti.com/dowson. There are some extra SDK bits for FSX in the FSX downloads Announcement, above. Also look at the "Stickies" near the top of the Forum. Depending upon what programming language you choose there are some extras there too. Do I need to buy FSUIPC for the same or is it possible that I can develop it using the free FSUIPC without registration. The above said application will be free and will not be sold at any cost. No, you don't need to buy anything. Regards Pete
vincent3105 Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 Thanks Pete. So understanding from what you said, I can download the FSUIPC from the site and develop application with the same. I did see that the registration costs some amount, if the said application that I am developing is to be used by others in the VA, will that be possible. Sorry to bother you again on this. Thanks
Pete Dowson Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 I can download the FSUIPC from the site and develop application with the same. You need the SDK as well, as it tells you how to use the IPC interface. I did see that the registration costs some amount User Registration is for users to access the User facilities, as described in the User documentation. None of that is anything to do with the programming interface, which the user doesn't need to know anything about. Your guide to the programming interface is the SDK, not the User guide. Regards Pete
