JSkorna Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 Hi, Your Windows registry has lost track of FSX. You can use the free regisrty fixer program from Flight1. It is here: http://www.flight1software.com/files/FSRepair.exe
Pete Dowson Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 I recieve this message when I am trying to install FSX FSUIPC4.4.20 Please do NOT try to install version 4.20, as it is quite old now and completely unsupported. Check announcements above and always make sure you are using the current versions before asking for support. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0 Parameter"SetupPath" Not there, so looking in registry for FSX install path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0 Parameter"AppPath" ... NOT found! Asking user to find FSX.EXE instead ... Either you've moved FSX without uninstalling and reinstalling correctly, or you've got a corrupted or previous (rolled-back?) Registry. User identified path: "F:\FSX\FSX FSUIPC4.4.20\Install FSUIPC4.exe" You aren't supposed to identify the path to FSUIPC, but the path to FSX.EXE -- you didn't bother to read what it was asking for? It needs to find FSX so it can install! Since your registry is wrong, it needed help from you -- YOU then have to find FSX for it!! I see Jim kindly pointed you to a Registry fixer for FSX, but you should know that if you'd followed the instructions and provided the FSX.EXE path to FSUIPC4's installer it would have optionally fixed it for you too. Anyway, please don't use out of date versions of FSUIPC. I cannot support you if you do. Regards Pete
