TommiA
Hi, I have installed the following on a Vista Home Basic machine: FS2004 FSUIPC 3.817 (registered) Project Magenta Boeing glass All sw installed normally and FSUIPC registration was ok. But.. the IPC communication does not operate normally. If I check settings in PM nav display ctrl_O window, I see: FS running netdir (no data) connected widefs (I have not installed widefs) fsuipc 0.000 If I run PM version checker I get: pmFileCheck Build 40 Opening Connections Local Path: C:\Users\Tommi\Desktop\Project Magenta Checking Computer and User Name Local Computer Name: HP6715S Local User Name: Tommi FSUIPC/WideFS found! FSUIPC No Version number Reported! Please Check FSUIPC Installation No data from Flight Simulator, FS doesn't appear to be running! Closing Everything 25.10.2008 21:50:23 Things To Do: * Check FSUIPC Installation (Version is 0) * Run Flight Simulator If you wish to, please check http://www.projectmagenta.com/notams.html Any ideas? wbr, Tommi
Pete Dowson
But.. the IPC communication does not operate normally. If I check settings in PM nav display ctrl_O window, I see: FS running netdir (no data) connected widefs (I have not installed widefs) fsuipc 0.000 If you've not installed WideFS how do you expect it to see it? Any ideas? No, none at all, because any answers will be in the FSUIPC or WideFS logs. I cannot answer questions on Project Magenta! Sorry. If you want to use PM checking programs and seek answers just from those you have to ask PM support, not FSUIPC support. Show me the FSUIPC Log file -- from a complete attempt, after you've closed FS. If you've not installed WideFS do not try to run PM modules on Networked PCs, only the FS PC. Oh, one other thing. If you are trying to run FS in elevated Administrator mode (i.e. "run as administrator"), don't -- only do this to Register. If you really have to run it that way (ugh!) then EVERY other add-on you run which needs access to FS via FSUIPC needs also the same privilege levels, because Vista will otherwise prevent them sharing any data. TommiA
If you've not installed WideFS how do you expect it to see it? Well, I did not install but Pm saw it anyhow, for some reson.. Show me the FSUIPC Log file -- from a complete attempt, after you've closed FS. If you've not installed WideFS do not try to run PM modules on Networked PCs, only the FS PC. It's running on a single machine. Oh, one other thing. If you are trying to run FS in elevated Administrator mode (i.e. "run as administrator"), don't -- only do this to Register. If you really have to run it that way (ugh!) then EVERY other add-on you run which needs access to FS via FSUIPC needs also the same privilege levels, because Vista will otherwise prevent them sharing any data.Pete This was the problem. It's working now ok. Thank you! Tommi
