Chris505 Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 Hi Peter: On page 38 of the user's guide you say: ". . . best way forward is to disable FS's joystick facilities altogether, then program all buttons and axes in FSUIPC4". My question is how do I go about disabling them altogether?. Thank you, Chris505
Chris505 Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 Addendum: I found in options/settings/controls an "enable controllers" box which I unchecked. It disable the axis but the buttons/keys page still works. Do I have to remove assignments from that page myself or is the another way to disable all of them at once: chris505
Pete Dowson Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 I found in options/settings/controls an "enable controllers" box which I unchecked. It disable the axis but the buttons/keys page still works. You mean the button/keys assignments for FSX? Disabling a joystick controller won't disable the keyboard. You don't need to disable the keyboard. If the buttons still work then you must have more than one controller. You would need to disable them all, separately, if you don't want any possible conflict with assignments in FSUIPC. Keyboard is different. If you assign a key in FSUIPC it takes precedence. FSUIPC cannot stop FS reading the joysticks. Regards Pete
Chris505 Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 Everything works. I mistook the fact that it was FSUIPC that recognized the buttons not FSX. Thanks again for the help. Regards, Chris505
