fc
Hi Pete - Have seen a strange issue with the Rudder in FS - under certain circumstances, the rudder will deflect in order to turn the aircraft towards a VOR - I'll explain: FS9, 747 400 (Mod by Perdo O), WinXP, latest FSUIPC, PM Aircraft in AP Once in awhile, on selection of a VOR in NAV2, the rudder will swing over Left or Right, depending on how off the aircraft heading is to the Nav2 VOR - The amount of deflection decreases, and then comes to zero as I turn (Hdg Sel) the acft towards the VOR - once the VOR is dead ahead, the rudder deflection scale in the Lower Eicas (and the spot view) goes to zero The course selected for that VOR does not seem to affect the deflection the Ailerons / Roll mode is not affected and works OK - this issue only affects the Rudder in AP Once this happens, selecting another VOR in NAV2 does not make a difference, it stays locked to the original VOR This does not happen in Manual: If I disc the AP, the rudder stays in it's deflected position. If I kick the rudder, it then jumps to zero. However, if I re-engage the AP, the rudder swings over L or R depending on the above. I was doing a flight around KaiTak, and on a go around, selected the CH VOR on Nav2 - I have seen this happening a couple of times at other airports and VOR's - I was wondering if anyone has reported this? I'm still trying out diff. situations - this seems such a strange issue that I wouldn't be surprised if I'm the only one.. :-) Cheers, Farrokh
Pete Dowson
Have seen a strange issue with the Rudder in FS - under certain circumstances, the rudder will deflect in order to turn the aircraft towards a VOR - I'll explain: FS9, 747 400 (Mod by Perdo O), WinXP, latest FSUIPC, PM Must be related to the aircraft. As far as I know the AP doesn't use the rudder at all. And I would never have noticed because I never fly outside the cockpit. I'm not sure why you are posting this here. Seems more something for general FS9 users. try the FS2004 Forum? Regards Pete

BTW if you ever do want to report something about FSUIPC I will need the version number confirmed, not just "latest" which is pretty meaningless. ;-) Regards Pete
