ezegb
Hi Pete, first off, sorry to bother you with this kind of question, the matter is the simulator is running on this hardware, it's pretty old, and since it's not mine I have no power to bring it up to date (which is in the end what I guess should be done). As I mentioned in the subject, this is running on an EPIC ISA, Windows ME, DX 7 and FSUIPC 2.77. The issue is that while all buttons test correctly in Test128, there are several which are not attached to any of the 16 joysticks, and some others show odd behaviour (for example the battery master, which should trigger an on and off event, but will only toggle upon switching to off position). Testing in isEpic95 is consistent with what is shown in the Windows joystick manager, that is, some buttons don't work at all, others behave oddly. Recompiling the epl also seems to affect in some way. I compiled a fresh version from what I believe is the latest epl code, and with that version no button at all worked (not even oddly or partially) This problem has arised since the hard disk was formatted and everything reinstalled. I didn't do the previous install so I cannot say what was done when it worked. I'm at a total loss, and at this time all I can think of is: - Previously, the system ran on DX 9. I guess this shouldn't affect since there wasn't even any DX 9 when this sim was put into operation. - I have installed the latest epic.vxd driver from your website, but I'm not sure which version was being ran previously. Is it feasible that maybe an older version would solve this? - I suspect the .joy file may be involved in the matter. I tried generating a new one but I could never get past the first screen (enter to generate a new one, esc to abort). I do understand I would have to go to RR regarding this, though. ANY input will be appreciated. Thanks and regards Ezequiel

Certainly DX is nothing to do with it. - I have installed the latest epic.vxd driver from your website, but I'm not sure which version was being ran previously. Sorry. - I suspect the .joy file may be involved in the matter. I tried generating a new one but I could never get past the first screen (enter to generate a new one, esc to abort). ezegb
Hi Pete, I'll check with RR. Thanks a lot anyway, I do understand all of these belong rather in a museum than in an operational sim :P Best regards Ezequiel
