WideFS is connected with FS but SB has a different opinion

Recommended Posts

Hello Pete,

at first let me thank you for your great work for the community. As a longtime user of the freeware version of FSUIPC I had the pleasure of flying virtually around the world with nice ATC. That wouldn't have been possible without your great work.

Yesterday I bought the payware FSUIPC together with WidFs.

And thats when my problems started. I payed for both and received the Registration-Key within minutes. I've read the manuals and decided "Let's do it". I want to use my PC (still with Windows2000) for Fligtsimulator only. The Laptop (IBM Thinkpad/Win XP) is supposed to run the squawkbox via a LAN between Laptop and PC.

I installed everything corrctly. I start FS and my aircraft is on stand. I then start widefs and it imidiatly connects to FS.

But when I want to start squawkbox this error-messgae pops up:

"Squawkbox was unable to establish a connection with FS. You are seeing this because FS is not running or there is a problem with FSUIPC..."

Well I installed both SB3 and SB4 in order to find out what is wrong. But everytime this message pops up.

If I reinstall fsuipc and don't register, the SB works fine if it's running on the same computer as fs. But as soon as I register FSUIPC the problems start again.

I hope you can help me Pete.

Kind Regards,

Thomas Tasler

This is running SB on the Client PC or the FS PC?

In that case you certainly have a registration problem. Either the keys you've got are illegally made, or your system date says they are not valid yet because you purchased them AFTER today's date. I expect it is the latter. Correct your PC's date and it will be okay.

Pete
