paulos2002
Hello, I am new to this forum, so go easy! Anyway I have spent nearly a whole day trying to get Traffic X and Active Sky Advanced working from a remote PC on my LAN. I know now that you can use simconnect but have also purchased WIDEFS & FSUIPC licences and have them connecting across the LAN but I cannot get Traffic X or Active Sky to work over it. I am completely unsure about the simconnect, what to do with it or indeed where to put the dll whether there should be a client etc. etc. I would reall like some patient help if at all possible as I would like to keep my FSX PC purely running the sim and let the remote machine run all the Traffic and weather etc. Thanks in advance Paul
Pete Dowson
I am new to this forum, so go easy! Anyway I have spent nearly a whole day trying to get Traffic X and Active Sky Advanced working from a remote PC on my LAN. ErActive Sky Advanced can be used over a LAN but you have to install SimConnect on that PC and prepare some files -- and you must have FSX Deluxe or Gold, not the basic version. Traffic X is an add-on AI traffic package, surely, and runs INSIDE FSX, so cannot run across a LAN. Or are you referring to something completely different? I know now that you can use simconnect but have also purchased WIDEFS & FSUIPC licences and have them connecting across the LAN but I cannot get Traffic X or Active Sky to work over it. For FSX ASA uses SimConnect, not WideFS. And Traffic X is not an FSUIPC client application, so doesn't use WideFS either. I am completely unsure about the simconnect, what to do with it or indeed where to put the dll whether there should be a client etc. etc. For ASA you need to refer to the documentation supplied. If you don't understand it please visit the Suport forum for ASA. I'm afraid I cannot undertake to support other folks programs. For Traffic X, I think you must be confused. What are you trying to run on a networked PC? AI traffic only ever runs INSIDE FS! Regards Pete
