nillefix Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Hi, I was wondering, is it possible to smooth out rapid temperature changes in FS9 vi FSUIPC? Best regards/ Niclas Åberg
Pete Dowson Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 I was wondering, is it possible to smooth out rapid temperature changes in FS9 vi FSUIPC? No, sorry. We never did find out any way to influence that directly -- not that it ever was reported as a real problem, mind. I suppose if it was then we'd have found a way. Why, are you getting problems with temperature? Using which weather source? Regards Pete
nillefix Posted May 13, 2009 Author Report Posted May 13, 2009 Lately I have been having problems with planes crashing, namely PMDGs 747, all of a sudden. Climbed to cruise and have autopilot engaged(VNAV, LNAV) everything ok, got out for a walk, or last time, gone 30 seconds to the bathroom, returnes and find the aircraft at the gate and Radar Contact telling me that's not my assigned altitude. =) Seems the flight reseted. This happenes 2 out of 3 flights. Asked at PMDG forum for any tips and Dan Downs there told me it could have to do with sudden pressure drops or temperature drops. Flying PMDGs 747, ASv 6.5, FSUIPC 3.90 registered, Ground Enviroment PRO, Radar Contact 4.3 and Track IR Best regards/ Niclas Åberg

The pressure and temperature when using Active Sky are both certainly under its control -- but possibly some of the downloaded data has inconsistencies on occasion. Often this is either due to the timing of reports from different stations being very different in a fast changing weather situation, or simply some weather stations being omitted (unavailable) at the time. I know HiFi simulation have been doing a lot of work on getting such anomalies sorted out -- `maybe there are options in AS6.5 which will do a better job if set differently? It would be worth checking its documentation or going to their support forum. Also consider upgrading to ASA if the looks to have better capabilities. Regards Pete
nillefix Posted May 13, 2009 Author Report Posted May 13, 2009 Ok, thanks! Will check HIFI Simulations site and documentation, see if I can find a solution, otherwise it seems I have to upgrade. Thanks again Best regards/ Niclas Åberg
JSkorna Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Hi, If you think it is ASv6.5 causing this, please drop me an e-mail with your temperature data. Happy to take a look. jim(AT)hifisim.com
