dandimm Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Hello All - I use FSX with a full registered FSUIPC and would like a way to selectively enable/load FSUIPC using a different desktop icon to start FSX. I currently have 2 icons, one is for my full flight simulator with multiple monitors, rudders, yoke, goflight, etc. The other icon is to run a single monitor and a MS ForceFeedback joystick. Each icon uses a seperate "fsx.cfg" file on the fsx.exe command line. I need to disable/not load fsuipc for the single monitor icon because I get a lot of "interference" (i.e. jittery yoke) from the other USB controls that are enabled and configured thru the FSUIPC. I looked at the dll.xml but it doesn't appear to be a way to have separate dll.xml or exe.xml files for each configuration. What is the best way to does this? Thanks in advance. Dan

There's no way to do that, sorry. There should certainly be no need in any case. Why not simply have your controls configured to be "aircraft specific" or "profile specific" -- FSUIPC assignments, calibrations, buttons and keys can all be specific to aircraft using the aircraft specific facilities or Profiles. Even if you are actually using the same aircraft for both situations, it would be easy enough to edit its AIRCRAFT.CFG file, make a copy of the relevant section in there with a different name, and have that specific. I looked at the dll.xml but it doesn't appear to be a way to have separate dll.xml or exe.xml files for each configuration. No, there isn't -- at least not for the same User. You could do it by installing FSX separately for two users and then swap by logging off and back one as the other. However, as I said, it really is completely unnecessary. You are simply not making full use of FSUIPC's flexibility. Regards Pete
dandimm Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 Thank you for the response and information. I went to look up the profiles feature in the advanced user guide and found the section on using multiple INI files. That worked great, easy to set up and the best solution for my multiple configurations of FSX. Thanks again.
