FSUIPC ZIP FILE

Hi, I have just downloaded and purchased the FSUIPC zip file. Unfortunately, even though I am using winzip it is not recognising the file as an archive file and will not unzip its contents for me to install. Please help.

I use winzip 12.0 and it opens the FSUIPC.zip file with no issues.

You may want to download again just to make sure that your dl is not corrupt.

You can dl ver 3.90 from here http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html and it should be 3.14 Mb in size.

Unzip and install as per PeteD's instructions.

You then dl PeteD's update 3.921 after ver 3.90 is installed.

It is Zipped with a version of Winzip which is compatible with all versions I know of, at least back to 8, and it is also compatible with the unzipper built into Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. It is certainly also file-typed as a ".zip" file, so any version of Winzip should either recognise it, or, if your download is corrupted, at least say it is a bad or corrupted zip file.

Check that your anti-virus or other protection programs haven't actually prevented the proper download, or even renamed the file.

Hi Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately, I have tried two PC's with the download but it is still giving me the same error message that it is not a valid archive file. I can open other zip files okay.

You most certainly have a corrupted download, then. You should have tried downloading it again -- many thousands have unzipped it with no problem. You are the only one to report otherwise, so it certainly isn't the file.

Anyway, which ZIP file are you talking about? not the old 3.90 version still, superseded by 3.93?

So you could not unzip 3.90, which was available for months and downloaded and unzipped by many thousands of users with no problems, and now you have the same problem with 3.93, which is most certainly a completely different file and which has also been downloaded, unzipped, and run by many users already.

ALL my files, here and on the Schiratti "Dowson" page are Zipped up the same way. And they are all perfectly good. I'm sorry, but you most certainly have a problem on your system or with your ISP/Router. I really cannot help further. You will need to find out what is wrong at your end and get it fixed.
