Achilles Philippopoulos Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Hi Pete, With version 3.930 , project magenta boeing glasscockpit and cdu/rcdu does not respond to battery switch. I went back to 3.915 and all worked as it should. It seems that the new version does not response to 0510 offsets but I am not sure if this is the problem. I also use boeing 737ng software of Thomas Richter. If this helps. Achilles

Nothing in FSUIPC is involved. You'll need to localise it more I'm afraid. There's been no changes to anything other than those listed. Regards Pete
Achilles Philippopoulos Posted September 5, 2009 Author Report Posted September 5, 2009 Ok, Think I found something. From the manual 0510 2 Electrical Systems Inop Bit 0 All Bit 1 Capt PFD Bit 2 Capt ND Bit 3 Upper EICAS/ECAM Bit 4 Lower EICAS/ECAM Bit 5 F/O PFD Bit 6 F/O ND Bit 7 Reserved Bit 8 Standby Bit 9 CDU/MCDU Bit 10 RCDU/RMCDU (rmcdu needs to be updated by me) Bit 11 MCP/FCU (*hardware only) = 1 (Glass Cockpit Reads, switches off when bit is 1) The above values must be 0 when battery is off and 1 when battery is on This is what is happening with 3.915 and works fine. With 3.930, i read some bits with different values than 0 or 1 as bellow Offset 0x0510 has value 8 = 1.35281670201088E-291 Offset 0x0510 has value 4 = 5046273 Trying to set value 1 returns the bellow Offset 0x0510 has value 4 = 5046273 Offset 0x0510 set to value 4 = 1 Offset 0x0510 has value 4 = 4980737 I can not help you more but I can tell you that I can fly only with 3.915 version. So, it must be fsuipc related problem at least to my Pc's. p.s ( I use wide fs also)
Pete Dowson Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 From the manual 0510 2 Electrical Systems Inop The PM Manual? Or the PM FSUIPC Offsets List? With 3.930, i read some bits with different values than 0 or 1 as bellowOffset 0x0510 has value 8 = 1.35281670201088E-291 Offset 0x0510 has value 4 = 5046273 Sorry, can you explain what you mean there? Value "8 = 1.35281670201088E-291"? What does that mean. Where do these floating point values come from? If offset 0510 is 2 bytes, the maximum unsigned value is +65535, and the signed range is -32768 to +32767. There's no possibility of any floating point value being stored there, nor of a value like 5046273. You are evidently reading something completely wrongly. Trying to set value 1 returns the bellowOffset 0x0510 has value 4 = 5046273 Offset 0x0510 set to value 4 = 1 Offset 0x0510 has value 4 = 4980737 Same again. No way can you get such values from a 16 bit number. It is absolutely and utterly impossible. I can not help you more but I can tell you that I can fly only with 3.915 version. So, it must be fsuipc related problem at least to my Pc's. Sorry, but 0510 has nothing whatsoever to do with FSUIPC. It is all dealt with by PM. You need PM support, or by all means stay on 3.915 and don't ask me for support. I don't mind helping where something may be related to my software, but 0510 is not at all related, and the analysis you submit is nonsensical in any case. Sorry. Regards Pete
