jlp71
Is there any way to find out what key is pressed when you click on a button on a Gauge with the mouse ( a start/stop button on a chronometer )? It is not listed in fsuipc controls and nor can I find it in fs2004 default fs button assignmentlist. I have tried to do a mouse macro in fsuipc but that does not work. And if there is not any key pressed by a mouse click is there any way to do it. I want to start and stop the chronometer with a button on my panel. I use a 2120 puls generator by desktop aviator. Ay ideas how to solve this? Best regards Johannes

Event logging in FSUIPC's Logging tab will log any FS events (controls) which might emanate from a gauge. But there are no chronometer controls in FS at all -- all such functions are purely local to the gauge itself. If it is an add-on gauge there's a (small) chance that the designer has thought of hardware users and provided a mechanism -- maybe a keyboard shortcut -- but otherwise there is really no way to do what you want other than perhaps use "Key2Mouse" or something similar. That would convert a chosen keystroke into mouse positioning and clicking actions. The Key2Mouse program is by Luciano Napolitano. guenseli
Look at this thread in the A2A forums... http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=19751 with this method you could get nearly every function out of FS. But its maybe hard work to sort the right function out...try and see.

Unfortunately, those are only accessible in the FSX/ESP version of FSUIPC (i.e. FSUIPC4). I'm not sure whether I can do the same in FS2004, which the poster here appears to be using (judging by his comment "nor can I find it in fs2004 default fs button assignmentlist"). Maybe I'll take a look when I get time. Thanks for the link, though. it does look quite useful! Regards Pete
guenseli
Oh, I'm sorry, I haven't recognized that he's obvisiously talking about FS9... But it is a useful link... yes...copy the thread and make it sticky?
