WideFS connection issue

Recommended Posts

Hi Pete.

I thought I better start a new topic with my problems.

Ok.....Registration of WideFS.....solved.

But when I try and connect to the PC that's running FS I just get a empty box titled 'WideClient FS98 Eliminator - Waiting for a connection' and just sits there....

You suggested it could be firewall issues, but the 2 PC's are connected and I can transfer files back and forth from both PC's. I disabled the firewall on both PC's but still the same result, so I think the issue lies somewhere else.

Once again....Latest versions of FSUIPC and WideFS, PC running FS(2004)is WindowsXP (server?) and PC (that i hope to be running utilities!!) Windows7 (client?). Wireless Connection. IP adresses are OK.

Am I doing something wrong? WideServer.dll and .ini to FS Modules folder. WideClient.exe and .ini to a folder on client? PC with a shortcut to WideClient.exe on the Desktop, so I just doubleclick on the shortcut and that's it.

Really hoping you will be able to help, Martin.

Maybe, but Explorer file exchanging doesn't mean other programs aren't blocked.

No, everything for WideFs is okay. It is a networking problem.

I've no idea how to fix network problems except by trial and error. That's always worked for me, eventually. sorry. I'm placing bets on that wireless arrangement. Can't you try a wire, just to check?

Pete
