Ok it all worked fine in FS2002.

I have installed the latest FSUIPC (3.04) and Wide FS6.02 and registered them and paid!

They just wait to connect, and wait and wait.......

********* WideClient.DLL Log [version 6.02] Class=FS98MAIN *********

Date (dmy): 09/08/03, Time 12:29:08.717: Client name is CLIENT

110 Attempting to connect now

1101 Error on client pre-Connection Select() [Error=10061] Connection refused

1111 Ready to try connection again

1141 Attempting to connect now

76630 Reception maximum achieved: 0 frames/sec, 0 bytes/sec

76630 Max receive buffer = 0, Max send depth = 0

76630 ********* Log file closed (Buffers: MaxUsed 0, Alloc 0 Freed 0 Refused 0) *********

I have tried it with no firewall, no change.

I would be grateful if someone could email me their ini files for comparison - I am on TCIP.

Ta in advance

Steve

In order to see what is happening the LOG file from the WideServer may be important. You haven't shown this.

One thing that looks wrong is that WideClient isn't logging the server name or IP address. This is how the start of a good WideClient log for TCP/IP should look:

141 Attempting to connect now

141 Trying TCP/IP host "OFFCENTRE" ...

141Okay, IP Address = 192.168.0.8

1141 Error on client pre-Connection Select() [Error=10061] Connection refused

1141 Ready to try connection again

1156 Attempting to connect now

...

39156 Connection made okay!

The initial "connection refused" here is simply because FS was still loading then and WideServer wasn't ready. It was ready after 39 seconds as you can see.

The fact that those two important lines:

141 Trying TCP/IP host "OFFCENTRE" ...

141Okay, IP Address = 192.168.0.8

are missing in your log seems to indicate that you aren't telling the Client the Server's name.

I would be grateful if someone could email me their ini files for comparison - I am on TCIP.

Just default INI files should be fine for TCP/IP, but with the ServerName parameter provided in the Client INIs.

Pete

You have "ServerIPAddr=192.168.0.1" in the Client INI file. Have you tried giving the Server name instead ("NEW")?
