George_F
I get error #14 FSUIPC not running when trying to run an Acars app. FSUIPC also does not appear in the addons menu of FSX. I've tried a couple of different versions and get the same error :( I don't know what could have changed as it did work previously and I don't remember changing anything in my system. Thanx! Pete Dowson
I get error #14 FSUIPC not running when trying to run an Acars app. What does Error #14 mean? It isn't any message of mine. FSUIPC also does not appear in the addons menu of FSX. I've tried a couple of different versions and get the same error :( If it doesn't appear in the AddOns menu then either your FSX installation is corrupted -- SimConnect is not correct -- or, more likely, something you've installed has messed up the DLL.XML which tells SimConnect what to load. When you say " I've tried a couple of different versions", what exactly do you mean? Have you run several different Installers, or merely copied the DLL's? If the latter, try using the Installer. I don't know what could have changed as it did work previously and I don't remember changing anything in my system. You might not remember but evidently you have. Tell me more about what you've tried. Show me the latest Install and FSUIPC Log files form the FSX Modules folder. Pete
George_F
Maybe the error #14 is from the Acars app, KACARS by FS-Products http://www.fs-products.net/ I removed FSUIPC and cleaned the registry of any mention of it. I then installed version 4.60, all seemed to go well. I checked for the DLL.XML it was there as well as a couple of back-ups. I renamed an older one (28/04/2010) and made it the active one. I started FSX, loaded a saved flight, a 767 sitting at a gate. FSUIPC did not show on the Addons menu. I connected to VATSIM so I guess Simconnect works. The last time I used the Acars program that requires FSUIPC was 04/06/2010, so the older DLL.XML should be un-corrupted. In the log below, it appears FSUIPC is unable to find the fsx.cfg, well, it's right there in the same folder as the DLL.XML C:\Users\Alky\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\ I'm running Vista 64 bit on a quad core with 6 gigs of ram and an Nvidia 9800GT+ vidio card. Pete Dowson
I removed FSUIPC and cleaned the registry of any mention of it. Was there mention of it? FSUIPC doesn't really use the Registry except to check the path to FS and to make a small record of user Registration on this machine. FSUIPC did not show on the Addons menu. I connected to VATSIM so I guess Simconnect works. Depends on what the VATSIM connector program uses. And there are three simultaneously in-use versions of SimConnect. A problem in one might not affect another. The last time I used the Acars program that requires FSUIPC was 04/06/2010, so the older DLL.XML should be un-corrupted. In the log below, it appears FSUIPC is unable to find the fsx.cfg, well, it's right there in the same folder as the DLL.XML C:\Users\Alky\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\ How do you work that out. It actually explicitly says it found it: Found FSX.CFG in "C:\Users\Alky\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\FSX.CFG" Are you reading some different file to the one you posted? Below is the installer log. I'm not sure what to look for there so I've included it. Where's the FSUIPC4.LOG? Doesn't one get generated? Anyway, the main problem is this: FSUIPC4.DLL signature failed: trying GlobalSign Root fix ...Problem! My signature check fails on the installed FSUIPC4.DLL. (Error ref 800B0111) so there's either something wrong with the downloaded ZIP you have, giving a corrupted FSUIPC4.DLL file, or there's something set wrong or missing in your system. I've not seen error 800B0111 before so I Googled it and found it means just "Trust verification failed", which isn't too helpful. I don't know how this has happened on your system, but one possibility is that you've told Windows at one time or another to not trust products with the signature authority I use (GlobalSign), or the signatory (simFlight). Load up Internet Explorer (no matter what browser you use), go it Internet Options - Content - Publishers - Untrusted Publishers and make sure my publisher is not listed. If it is select it and remove it. GlobalSign Root CA should be listed in the Trusted Root Certificate Authorities. You also need to make sure you've not disabled the essential Windows services used for trust checking -- cryptographic services is one of those. I removed it from the list and started up FSX and was asked if I wanted to trust it and I chose always. All seems well now. Thank you sir! :)
