tex1763 Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 Hi, Pete, this is my issue: I wish to run the IVAP User Interface on my 2nd networked PC, in order to avoid the annoying IVAP window on my FS screen always getting the focus and intercepting some keystrokes. The problem is, the audio card on my Pc #2 is not working and I can not get and send any sound. But even if I also have another laptop I could use for that task, I need to keep both audio from Fs9 and TS in the headset connected to Pc #1. I know that normally IVAP User Interface connects directly via TCP/IP to the networked Pc with Fs and Network Interface, but it requires TS to be installed on same machine. I was wondering whether WideFs could help me in launching the IVAP User Interface on Pc #2 and still keeping TS on Pc #1. In other words, I sort of want to do the opposite than controling the PTT of TS on Pc #2 from a joystick on Pc #1. I would be grateful for any suggest Stefano
Pete Dowson Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 The problem is, the audio card on my Pc #2 is not working and I can not get and send any sound. But even if I also have another laptop I could use for that task, I need to keep both audio from Fs9 and TS in the headset connected to Pc #1. That's unusual. For most folks the main advantage of running ATC stuff on a separate PC is the separation of FS aircraft and environmental sounds (for the speaker system) and the ATC sounds (from the headset or overhead speaker). I know that normally IVAP User Interface connects directly via TCP/IP to the networked Pc with Fs and Network Interface, but it requires TS to be installed on same machine. I don't know, sorry. I don't know anything at all about either IVAP or Teamspeak. I was wondering whether WideFs could help me in launching the IVAP User Interface on Pc #2 and still keeping TS on Pc #1. WideClient can launch programs, of course, but it doesn't have anything related to sound. I'm not sure how you think it could possibly help. In other words, I sort of want to do the opposite than controling the PTT of TS on Pc #2 from a joystick on Pc #1. The PTT facilities work anywhere, not just on the FS PC nor just on a client. The joystick button can be anywhere too. I don't think I understand what difficulty you are seeing? Regards Pete
tex1763 Posted August 31, 2010 Author Report Posted August 31, 2010 That's unusual. For most folks the main advantage of running ATC stuff on a separate PC is the separation of FS aircraft and environmental sounds (for the speaker system) and the ATC sounds (from the headset or overhead speaker). I'd like to do like that, of course, but my wife doesn't like watching TV in the living room or trying to sleep at night with a 737 taxiing in the next room  . I don't know, sorry. I don't know anything at all about either IVAP or Teamspeak. Thanks anyway, I'll search on Ivap or TS forums
