duif
Hello, After having problems with FS9 which I could not solve, I reinstalled the program. Because I am flying online with IVAO I also installed the pilot client ( Ivap) which should automatically install the latest version of FSUIPC. While installing I got the message FSUIPC did not load. Looking in the Modules folder I found the .dll file and some textfiles. When I tried to load Ivap I got an error message which said: Fail to load FSUIPC. Related features ( weather,SDK and external TCAS) will not be available The FSUIPC logfile says: ********* FSUIPC, Version 3.93 by Pete Dowson ********* Running on Windows Version 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Verifying Certificate for "D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\MODULES\FSUIPC.DLL" now ... It could also be that the Cryptographic Service in Windows has been broken. I am using Windows 7 so a Globalsign fix does not seem to be necessary, neither did I tamper the file. My questions: 1. How to check if the provider is the problem. I am using Google chrome as a browser. 2. How to check the working of the Cryptographic services. Is it a difficult procedure because I am not a professional ICT person? Two other facts: -Of late there have been some changes in the register according to FS9. I made a backup but did not reset the old settings yet. Could this have any influence on the problem. - Although I did not change anything in FSX it now produces almost the same error message. I would like to thank you in advance for any solution. Kind regards, Duif
Pete Dowson
When I tried to load Ivap I got an error message which said: Fail to load FSUIPC. Related features ( weather,SDK and external TCAS) will not be available The FSUIPC logfile says: ********* FSUIPC, Version 3.93 by Pete Dowson ********* Version 3.93 is very old and completely unsupportable. The earliest supported version is 3.98. Verifying Certificate for "D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\MODULES\FSUIPC.DLL" now ... FAILURE! "WinVerifyTrustEx" error 0x80092026: This return is non-standard, possibly specific to trust provider I expect this is because the signature on that old version of FSUIPC expired. Right click on the DLL and look in Properties-Digital Signature. - Although I did not change anything in FSX it now produces almost the same error message. Again, without seeing the log, it may be a very out of date version of FSUIPC. Oldest supported version for FSX is 4.60. How to check if the provider is the problem. I am using Google chrome as a browser. I think only Internet Explorer provides access to the Trusted and Untrusted Publisher lists, but I'm not sure. Certainly IE is available to you even if it isn't your default browser. Regards Pete
duif
Hello Pete, Sorry that I did send in the wrong logfile. I don't think it produces an other message regarding to my problems. When I rightclick on the .DLL file it saya:Signer: simflight GmbH Date sign: 04-03-2010 Date of expire:12-02-2012 That's okay, it is just telling you what the signature is. But does it say it is correct or not.? You need to select it and click the "Details" button. It should say "this digital signature is ok" or words to that effect. You are not on a trusted or untrusted Publishers list. I am not the signatory these days, it is Simflight, as you saw. Regards, Pete
duif
Okay, in that case it does seem that your Windows has a missing component or a corrupt cryptographic service. Do you have any idea how to check and repair that? That's okay, it is just telling you what the signature is. But does it say it is correct or not.? You need to select it and click the "Details" button. It should say "this digital signature is ok" or words to that effect. It says: "This digital signature is okay". Pete Dowson
It says: "This digital signature is okay". Okay. That's good then. I suspect it's a security setting in the Registry. Check out the thread entitled Help with FSUIPC4 code signature problem in the FAQ subforum. I also Googled the error number (0x80092026) and came up with this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555374 which looks relevant too.
