There are occasions when the sim doesn't crash, when this happens, the sim pauses for about 1-2 seconds then keeps going. Ratcheting down details or turning off AI may help but not 100% of the time. Pete Dowson
Here's the fault report from w7 when entering a detailed scenery area. FS9.1 with FZ KPDX scenery. There are 4 separate crash reports there, not one. Two of them are as you reported in the Avsim FSX Forum -- at 4384B. I had a look at that and I'm afraid it is not in a place I can do anything with. It looks like it is processing data in a file, lots of different values, and in the middle of a very large routine from which there's no easy way out of. I'm pretty sure these errors must be due to bad files. I'll have a look at the other two locations, 437D0 and 114D5, of which the former is suspiciously close to the one I cannot deal with, so I don't have high hopes for that. You then said and so on meaning what? Loads of other, different, G3D.DLL crashes? [LATER] I had a look at the other two. Sorry, but I can't see any way out of those either. I was lucky with the FSX case I dealt with, a small function with a simple TRUE or FALSE exit. no such luck in these cases, and too many different ones in any case. kdfw
Hi Pete, Thanks for looking into this. I'm glad FSX work-around for this problem was found (haven't yet experienced it myself on FSX), great work. Pat
