Pete,

I have a question but I don't know if you are the right person to ask......but let me try.....:have been running for several months until a couple of days ago ASE and IVAP on a networked laptop with no issues.

All of a sudden it looks like Simconnect has stopped working properly: ASE does not any longer inject weather into FSX and IVAP "cannot find FSX".

Apparently everything seems to be fine: all files are located where they should be, MS Firewall is properly configured, network comunication between server and client is OK, widefs is ok....and so on...

This is what I have from FSUIPC.log.

Does it tell anything related to my issue ?

I would appreciate a suggestion on how to proceed..

Thanks a lot

The FSUIPC log shows everything okay. Are you running ASE and IVAP on the same PC as FSX? If not check the SimConnect.xml file on the FSX PC and the Simconnect.cfg file on the client.

If you are running FSX "as administrator, try it normal, and vice versa.

Pete,

thanks for the reply.

I have ASE and IVAp running in remote on a networked laptop.

These are my Simconnect.xml file on the server PC (FSX)...

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252" ?>

- <SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0">

<Descr>SimConnect</Descr>

<Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename>

<Disabled>False</Disabled>

- <SimConnect.Comm>

<Disabled>False</Disabled>

<Protocol>IPv4</Protocol>

<Scope>global</Scope>

<Address>192.168.0.2</Address>

<Port>500</Port>

<MaxClients>10</MaxClients>

<MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize>

<DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle>

</SimConnect.Comm>

- <SimConnect.Comm>

<Disabled>False</Disabled>

<Protocol>Auto</Protocol>

<Scope>local</Scope>

</SimConnect.Comm>

</SimBase.Document>

[simConnect]

Protocol=IPv4

Address=192.168.0.2

Port=500

MaxReceiveSize=4096

DisableNagle=0

They seem to be ok.....I just can't figure out what happened...

Maybe is just a coincidence but the issue started immediately after I had a hard PC shutdown (server PC) due to an electrical supply loss in the house while I was flying....

Any other suggestion ?

Thanks again

Is the IP address of your Server PC definitely (still) 192.168.0.2 ?

Maybe a spike blew your network. But didn't you say WideFS was connecting okay?

Yes, the address is still the same......and WideFS is connecting OK...so it is not a network issue....everything seem at its right place...I am puzzled...!

OK...I fixed it....I reinstalled SDK and simconnect on the client PC and it was OK....now both ASE and IVAP are back on .....quite frankly I don't know what happened...

Thanks for your time anyway...

Hmmm. Sounds as if somehow the client's SimConnect installation got corrupted. Glad you solved it.
