eziocin Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Pete, I have a question but I don't know if you are the right person to ask......but let me try.....:have been running for several months until a couple of days ago ASE and IVAP on a networked laptop with no issues. All of a sudden it looks like Simconnect has stopped working properly: ASE does not any longer inject weather into FSX and IVAP "cannot find FSX". Apparently everything seems to be fine: all files are located where they should be, MS Firewall is properly configured, network comunication between server and client is OK, widefs is ok....and so on... This is what I have from FSUIPC.log. ********* FSUIPC4, Version 4.749d by Pete Dowson ********* User Name="USER" User Addr="USER" FSUIPC4 Key is provided WideFS7 Key is provided Running inside FSX on Windows 7 Module base=61000000 63 System time = 04/12/2011 13:31:01 63 FLT UNC path = "\\USER\Documents\File di Flight Simulator X\" 94 Trying to connect to SimConnect Acc/SP2 Oct07 ... 94 FS UNC path = "\\USER\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\" 312 LogOptions=00000000 00000001 312 Wind smoothing fix is fully installed 312 G3D.DLL fix attempt installed ok 312 SimConnect_Open succeeded: waiting to check version okay 312 Trying to use SimConnect Acc/SP2 Oct07 889 Running in "Microsoft Flight Simulator X", Version: 10.0.61472.0 (SimConnect: 10.0.61259.0) 889 Initialising SimConnect data requests now 889 FSUIPC Menu entry added 905 \\USER\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\FLIGHTS\OTHER\FLTSIM.FLT 905 \\USER\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aircreation_582SL\Aircreation_582SL.AIR 60591 Aircraft="Aircreation582SL red" 60591 System time = 04/12/2011 13:32:02, Simulator time = 11:43:13 (11:43Z) 63929 Starting everything now ... 67471 Advanced Weather Interface Enabled 116595 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 55 secs = 24.8 fps 129840 Weather Mode now = Theme 129840 \\USER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\Volo precedente.FLT Does it tell anything related to my issue ? This is what I have from FSUIPC.log. The FSUIPC log shows everything okay. Are you running ASE and IVAP on the same PC as FSX? If not check the SimConnect.xml file on the FSX PC and the Simconnect.cfg file on the client. If you are running FSX "as administrator, try it normal, and vice versa. Regards Pete
eziocin Posted December 4, 2011 Author Report Posted December 4, 2011 Pete, thanks for the reply. I have ASE and IVAp running in remote on a networked laptop. These are my Simconnect.xml file on the server PC (FSX)... <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252" ?> - <SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0"> <Descr>SimConnect</Descr> <Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> - <SimConnect.Comm> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Protocol>IPv4</Protocol> <Scope>global</Scope> <Address>192.168.0.2</Address> <Port>500</Port> <MaxClients>10</MaxClients> <MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize> <DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle> </SimConnect.Comm> - <SimConnect.Comm> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Protocol>Auto</Protocol> <Scope>local</Scope> </SimConnect.Comm> </SimBase.Document> [simConnect] Protocol=IPv4 Address=192.168.0.2 Port=500 MaxReceiveSize=4096 DisableNagle=0 They seem to be ok.....I just can't figure out what happened... Maybe is just a coincidence but the issue started immediately after I had a hard PC shutdown (server PC) due to an electrical supply loss in the house while I was flying.... Any other suggestion ? Thanks again Regards
Pete Dowson Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 I have ASE and IVAp running in remote on a networked laptop. These are my Simconnect.xml file on the server PC (FSX)... Is the IP address of your Server PC definitely (still) 192.168.0.2 ? Maybe is just a coincidence but the issue started immediately after I had a hard PC shutdown (server PC) due to an electrical supply loss in the house while I was flying.... Maybe a spike blew your network. But didn't you say WideFS was connecting okay? Pete

Pete Yes, the address is still the same......and WideFS is connecting OK...so it is not a network issue....everything seem at its right place...I am puzzled...!
eziocin Posted December 4, 2011 Author Report Posted December 4, 2011 OK...I fixed it....I reinstalled SDK and simconnect on the client PC and it was OK....now both ASE and IVAP are back on .....quite frankly I don't know what happened... Thanks for your time anyway... Regards
Pete Dowson Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 OK...I fixed it....I reinstalled SDK and simconnect on the client PC and it was OK....now both ASE and IVAP are back on .....quite frankly I don't know what happened... Thanks for your time anyway... Hmmm. Sounds as if somehow the client's SimConnect installation got corrupted. Glad you solved it. Pete
