lordofwings Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 I am using FSUIPC 4.60a with FSX and Paul Henty's C# FSUIPC SDK. I was wondering with all those offsets for engines, what would be the best way to check if a given engine is running regardless of whether it is a jet, propeller, turboprop, etc.?

The combustion flags, eg 0x0894 for Engine 1. That's exactly what they are for. BTW version 4.60a is very old now and completely unsupportable, so if you are going to continue to ask questions please update. I can't support anything earlier than 4.70 -- the current version is 4.756. Regards Pete
lordofwings Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks Pete, I have upgraded FSUIPC to the latest version (4.756) from Schiratti.com though I haven't had any problems with the "old" one. I will look up that offset. I noticed that in your offsets document you mention "Turbojet", did you mean "Turboprop" ? just wondering.

lordofwings Posted January 12, 2012 Author Report Posted January 12, 2012 The offset about the Magneto's the value states that for Jet/Turbojet it is Off, Start, Gen/Alt and for Props Off, Left, Right, Both, Start. My question there was whether Props applies to TurboProps or perhaps the first line meant to say "Jets/Turboprops" Haven't compared both myself and therefore my question.

I'm pretty sure, in this context, that props and turboprops are both treated like props, whilst jets and turbojets (i.e. the original type of jet engine) are jets. I think the distinction is whether they have a prop or not. Regards Pete 1
