sudqui Posted January 12, 2012 Author Report Posted January 12, 2012 Hello Andy and Guenseli. I tried to follow the manual but doesn't works. I'm trying for fs9.I I see that when the FSUIPC.INI file the block that start with XYZ doesn'y appears by anywhere. This file start by [JoyNames AutoAssigneletters=no [General .......... ........ ......... [JoystickCalibration] .............. .......... ........... [buttons] ......... ........ ......... and etc... Then In the only place I see to write the lines [VRInsight] 1=COM19, COM2 (com19 IS MY PORT) in between GENERAL and jOYCALIBRATION blocks, but doesn`t work. Can you tell me if I'm doing something bad? I have Xp OS. and fs9. Regards.
Pete Dowson Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 I want to tell you what I told Andy and Guenseli in the VRInsight forum about the fsuipc in order to recognize a MCP COMBO II BOEING like another Joy. I write this in th Sorry, I see your second message, but it appears garbled. It looks like you are trying to say things about the INI file, but it would be better if you pasted the file into your message rather than try to put in bits which don't make sense on their own. Note that the order of the sections (headed like [xxxxx]) is irrelevant, in case that is your worry. If you are wanting to add a new section, you can add it at the end. If you do have a question about FSUIPC please tell me exactly which version -- if not the latest, 3.998q or 4.756, please update first in case your problem no longer exists. You can get the latest from Download Links subforum. Regards Pete
sudqui Posted January 13, 2012 Author Report Posted January 13, 2012 Hello Pete and thanks for the answer. I have fsuipc v. 3.998, the latest. Pete Dowson Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 I have fsuipc v. 3.998, the latest. The latest is 3.998q. Please see the Download Links subforum as I stated. I don't think the new VRI combo devices aren't supported by 3.998. Anyway, you should use the latest if you want help. As you say I'm talking about fsuioc.ini and it's modification in order to works with the MCP II of VRInsight.I paste the fsuipc.ini modified. Okay. I see [VRinsight] 1=COM19, COM3 Are those correct? Are you using VSPE? What is your actual question? I don't know if I have to add something more to this file in order to fsuipc recognize MCP II like a Joy. Are you using the VRInsight software as well? If so, then that should connect to it on COM3. Does it? If your device is on COM19 and VSPE is working, then FSUIPC will see it and pass things you don't program on to the VRI software. What is your problem? Pete
sudqui Posted January 13, 2012 Author Report Posted January 13, 2012 Hello Pete. yes I'm using VSPE. I'm using VRIsim, the software of MCP II. The COM is 19. The problem is that after follow exactly the manual in order to fsuipc recognize MCP II like a Joy, no works. What could it happen? I have the latest version. Regards.
Pete Dowson Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 yes I'm using VSPE. I'm using VRIsim, the software of MCP II. I don't know that. Is it working through VSPE okay? The problem is that after follow exactly the manual in order to fsuipc recognize MCP II like a Joy, no works. I do not have the new MCPs at all so I can not test. All I did was add the commands as listed by andy. I think you need to ask him. I have the latest version. You said you had 3.998, but the latest is 3.998q. Perhaps you should do some logging. Andy can tell you how, though there is a document on that too. Regards Pete
Andydigital Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 VRiSim and FSUIPC work fine in FSX through VSPE, I can't confirm that with FS9 though as I do not own FS9 anymore, (I only had an OEM version, I no longer have the hardware it was licensed for) VRiSim does work with the MCP1 and FS9 Pete so you could test it, if you have the time. VRiSim has a completely different install path so it won't mess up an install of SerialFP2 which is still needed for some older VRi hardware, both installs can coexist quite happily. My money is on VSPE not been setup properly as per your instructions.
Pete Dowson Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 VRiSim and FSUIPC work fine in FSX through VSPE, I can't confirm that with FS9 though as I do not own FS9 anymore, The FSUIPC VRI stuff is the same for both FS9 and FSX. VRiSim does work with the MCP1 and FS9 Pete so you could test it, if you have the time. The MCP-Combi is MCP1? I have one of those and an M-Panel. You are thinking about FS compatibility of VRiSim, I assume? But surely the gentleman must have installed and run VRiSim with his MCP before starting on setting things up for FSUIPC? Perhaps he can confirm. I won't have time for this till next week now. He could also check that the FSUIPC part works okay on COM19 by changing the line "1=COM19,COM3" to just "1=COM19". Regards Pete
sudqui Posted January 13, 2012 Author Report Posted January 13, 2012 Hello Pete. VSPE works with fs9 so a friend that has MCP I told me. Andy Digital told me about the compatibility of VRIsim and works with the MCP II as the serialfp2 does with the MCP I. I have MCP II, FS9, XP OS. Andy, when you say: My money is on VSPE not been setup properly as per your instructions. I don't undertand the phrase: My money is on VSPE. I'll send to you this weekend all the steps I'm making detaily so You can tell me where is the mistake. Regards.
Pete Dowson Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 VSPE works with fs9 so a friend that has MCP I told me. I know VSPE works -- it isn't anything to do with FS9 or anything else like that, it simply provides virtual serial ports, so that something like FSUIPC can link to your device as well as the VRi software. That's all VSPE is used for in this context. If you were going to program the MCP completely in FSUIPC you wouldn't use VSPE in any case. Regards Pete
Andydigital Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 I don't undertand the phrase: My money is on VSPE. It simply means I think you haven't setup VSPE correctly. I sorry I don't have time to help at the moment I'm having a nightmare with my PC at the moment, first I had the water cooling pump fail and no sooner had I got that fixed than I find that my water cooled GTX580 has failed too.
sudqui Posted January 17, 2012 Author Report Posted January 17, 2012 Hi Pete. I can't find fsuipc 3.998q version. I the web is the 3.998m version. Can you help me where is it? thanks.
Andydigital Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/
Pete Dowson Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 I can't find fsuipc 3.998q version. Because it was replaced by the 3.998r version, of course. Just get the latest! I the web is the 3.998m version. Where are you seeing that? It is not available anywhere I know! It is several weeks old and was replaced by 3.998n then 3.998p before 3.998q. You should be referring to the Download Links subforum! Pete
