Pete Dowson
I have tried several times downloading fsuipc to work with fsx. You don't need to keep downloading. Just download once, and read the installation instructions. The download contains the Installer. Run it as instructed. Don't forget to download the correct version -- FSUIPC4 for FSX. The current installer installs version 4.80. If you need any other help, please state version of FS, version of FSUIPC, and find the FSUIPC log file in the FS modules folder and show me that. If you have an installation problem show me the Install log, in the same folder. Regards Pete

If so, if there an FSUIPC entry there? If so, does it work?Look again into the FSX Modules folder. Is there an FSUIPC4 log file? If so, please show that to me. If there isn't, then FSUIPC4 is not being loaded, which probably means that your DLL.XML file is in a mess. there are several add-on installers which corrupt that file so it is worth checking. You'll find it in this folder:C:\Users\Treleaven\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSXDespite the name it is a text file so you can paste it into a message here for me to check for you. You could also try renaming it then re-running the FSUIPC4 installer -- it will make a new DLL.XML for you, and if that works we'd need to see why the old one didn't.RegardsPete

Pete Dowson
Sorry, copied the wrong thing, this was in the modules folder: That's the same as the previous one, except it is complete and successful. I do get a dialogue box, and i put in my serial number. The dialogue box then says confirm, which i do, and then it dissappears. On the add on menu in fsx, fsuipc does and appear and work. Pete Dowson
This was one of the logs, I closed it when it told me the plane was not on the ground. Hmm. The log shows everything is working correctly. -- almost! There should be a line stating " Starting everything now ...", showing tha FSUIPC is getting the correct signals from SimConnect. So it is worrying that this is missing. This is the typical sequence after the Menu has been added: 7438 FSUIPC Menu entry added 7531 \\LEFT\FSPLANS\738 EGCC Cold and Dark.FLT 7531 \\LEFT\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\B737_800\Boeing737-800.AIR 41922 System time = 27/02/2012 09:08:41, Simulator time = 09:08:06 (09:08Z) 43063 Aircraft="Boeing 737-800 Paint2" 48219 Starting everything now ... As you'll see, there is a bit of a gap (34 seconds in this case -- the numbers on the left are in milliseconds) initially waiting for FS to be "ready" and start providing data, but in your case those last few messages never appear, which is odd and worrying. Please add the following to the [General] section of the FSUIPC4.INI file, then run FSX again. This time, when you've noticed things are wrong, close FSX (not just the log, please, as you did last time), and show me the LOG again. Debug=Please TestOptions=x800 I've seen a similar problem just once before, a while back, and asked the user then to do this, but he never replied so I never managed to determine why it happened. It would be very useful if you could do this as soon as possible as I have an update almost ready to release. Thank you, and Regards Pete
fullofattitude06
I am going to try that, I added it to the end. Do you think it might be worth while to reinstall fsx?
Pete Dowson
I am going to try that, I added it to the end. Not to the end of the whole file, I hope. Those lines must be in the section headed [General]. If you aren't sure where that ends, insert them as two new lines immediately after the [General] line. Do you think it might be worth while to reinstall fsx? No, and certainly not before we understand what is wrong. Reinstalling often generates more problems than it solves. It is a last resort -- we've not looked at the first resort yet! Unfortunately I'm out this evening -- leaving soon -- but if you obtain a log and paste it here, I should have time to check it when I return, late. Pete Dowson
This was the most recent, when i tried to load with a emb145 Wow, nearly three minutes to load FSX? Does it always take as long as that? The log shows that you weren't actually in normal flight mode for very long. Here you appear to get into flight mode (i.e not in menus and not loading): 158856 ## EV_START 158856 ## EV_SIM=start 161227 ##: ST_SIM=start 163754 ##: ST_SIM=start 166297 ##: ST_SIM=start 168871 ##: ST_SIM=start but then, within 13 seconds you are either back in a menu or loading something else: 171211 ## EV_STOP 171211 ## EV_SIM=stop 174908 LogOptions changed, now 00000000 00000001 Looks like you went into the FSUIPC menu and changed the logging options? Why? I suspect that not enough time has elapsed in Flight Mode for FSUIPC to guarantee correct operation. I think you need to explain exactly what you are doing here, please, because the logging shows merely that there was no attempt to actually use FS in the period of the log? Maybe you just waited a few seconds and decided that was enough? But why change the logging? Please don't, and try to let it run a little longer. FSUIPC needs to see a few things coming back from SimConnect in order to operate normally. These are the ID of the User Aircaft, and the FS time, both local and zulu. It uses these to determine that the Simulator is actually ready to fly -- many things FSUIPC needs to do either don't work or a precarious if it does them too early, hence the checks it makes. Could you let the Sim boot into flight mode without selecting a different flight or aircraft etc? In other words just click on "Fly Now" immediately the start menu appears. I'm wondering if there's something about the aircraft or flight you are loading which is causing the problem. If that doesn't work, I need yet more logging. Please add the following line to the two you added last time LogExtras=x400 so that you now have: Debug=Please TestOptions=x800 LogExtras=x400 This will make the log very big, so ZIP it up and email it to me at petedowson AT btconnect DOT com. fullofattitude06
I never changed the flight mode, I just simply went into the FSUIPC and checked it to make sure it was working, and was active. I never changed anything, I will wait a little longer to do the flight. The problem I am having is loading ACARS, it says about the plane not being on the ground. So, I usually just close it. I will give it more time, but again, this is a new problem that I have never had with ACARS. Thank you, I will try the "ready to fly" option, without switching, I will get back to you shortly. Pete Dowson
I never changed the flight mode, I just simply went into the FSUIPC and checked it to make sure it was working, and was active. I never changed anything Hmm. strange, because that extra logging option was cleared: 174908 LogOptions changed, now 00000000 00000001 which should never happen by itself. I will wait a little longer to do the flight. Can you please try loading the default flight, which appears to be the standard FSX default. We need to see if it is something to do with that aircraft or the flight file. The problem I am having is loading ACARS, it says about the plane not being on the ground. Yes, as you said earlier, but that's not because FSUIPC isn't running, but because FSUIPC appears not to be getting that information (nor much else) from SimConnect. the fuller logging i suggested woukd be useful too. Pete Dowson
I allowed FSX to run from the default, and just going to "fly now". I allowed it to run for approximately 60 seconds, then i went to flight planner, it works fine now. How long do I have to let it run to capture the needed info. Here is the log, with it running correctly: There's something really strange with your FS installation: According to Simconnect, FSX was stopped (in menus or similar) loading till 408 seconds later (i.e. nearly 7 minutes!). What on Earth is it doing all that time? 2839 ## EV_SIM=stop... 408847 ##: ST_SIM=stop 408925 ## EV_START 408925 ## EV_SIM=start 408941 ## WHYSTART: SOON: (0366=Y || (0264=N && 3365=Y)) && (3D00=N || (0580=Y && 0264=Y)) 408941 ## ... and no class #32770 window! 408941 ## WHYSTART: NOTYET: (No#32770=Y && time=Y && 3365=Y && seeStart=Y && startime=N) 409627 System time = 03/03/2012 15:59:19, Simulator time = 15:52:33 (23:52Z) 409627 Aircraft="Aircreation582SL red" 409939 ## Starting everything now ...
Then, it was all okay.If it takes 7 minutes to be ready with the default flight, with a simple aircraft, it could presumably take a few hours with your complex add-on aircraft? In the end, in that session, your total actual running time was 162 seconds (less than 3 minutes out of the 11 minutes elapsed time!
Average frame rate for running time of 162 secs = 29.9 fps
I'm sorry, but i can't imagine what is taking so long in your FSX installation. It certainly seems to need a thorough repair!RegardsPete

Pete Dowson
You think I should try and reinstall everything again? I normally would advise against attempting to re-install FSX, because the uninstall process is not very good and can make things worse. When I had serious SimConnect problems I eventually had to re-format the disk and start by reinstalling Windows. At least this gives you a nice clean and efficient system (for a while! ;-) ). Before going so far you could try a few easier alternatives. Have you got a lot of add-ons installed, for instance? You could try renaming your DLL.XML and EXE.XML files, for instance, and re-run the FSUIPC4 installer. Then rename also the FSX.CFG file, so FSX makes a new one. Save the original three files so that, should this fix matters, we can try to determine what the cause was. You will find those files is C:\Users\Treleaven\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX Regards Pete
