Pete Dowson Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 OK, I just checked the forum again before dinner and saw your reply above. I just re-enabled V4.812 mand went online to a multiplayer server. Oh, I wish you had tried 4.812f (from a link earlier in this thread). That changes things in the exact area you are experiencing problems with, and it is that version I nbeed checked, not 4.812. Pete PS Here, I'll repeat the link: FSUIPC4812f
Gypsy Baron Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Pete, I had a few minutes before having to get ready to leave for the airport and tested v4.812f. No joy I'm afraid, however some new input. Initially it looked like 4.812f was OK...I entered a session and went out, in, out and in again OK. BUT, my system BIAO were set for my "travel" mode, with the system clock set to deliver a 2.0 Ghz CPU speed as opposed to my normal 4.2 Ghz speed. (i5-2500K) My system has been stable at the 4.2Ghz settings for several months.. I went back and re-booted with my normal BIOS settings with the CPU at 4.2Ghz and tried the same session again two times and got the crash both times. So, it would appear like a timing issue of some sort most likely. Pete Dowson Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 So, it would appear like a timing issue of some sort most likely. Thanks for the testing. It looks like I'll have to remove this check: 167763 **** SimConnect appears not to be receiving requests! Re-connecting now ... **** 167872 SimConnect_Open succeeded: waiting to check version okay[/CODE]It's was this which crashed P3D on occasion too. I've no idea why. All it is doing is turnng a specific SystemEvent notification (4secs") on and off alternately, to ensure it knows SimConnect is actually receiving requests. This was to get around a previous case which showed that SimConnect can get into a state where it is still continually sending data, so FSUIPC detects no stall, but doesn't act on anything it is requested to do.I'll remove it for now. Seems to do more harm than good.RegardsPete
Gypsy Baron Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Thanks Pete. I'll be sure to get the latest update and do some testing when I return in a week. Out the door in a few minutes! Paul
