Ozrunways and FSUIPC problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I have a registered copy of fsuipc, I am trying to run Ozrunways with FSX. It seems to connect however, my aircraft only appears on the ozrunways moving map (ipad3) once every 20 seconds or so, and only for a second or two. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Apologies if I have posted in the wrong place, please point me in the right direction to where I can get some help

many thanks

What's "ozrunways"? Are you sure it uses FSUIPC? I don't think it can from an iPad.

Ozrunways runs off the ipad yes, and it uses fsuipc. I've seen it referenced on this forum which is why I am asking. See the ozrunways link here: http://www.ozrunways...06/fsx-support/

I see it uses a Lua plug-in. You do realise you can only run Lua plug-ins with a registered FSUIPC I suppose?

Lua plug-in actions are easily checked and debugged using logging facilities as shown on the Logging tab of FSUIPC.

You should also be using the current version of FSUIPC -- 4.852 for FSX.

Yep I have purchased FSUIPC and registered it. It wasn't working at all until I registered it. Now it sort of works but only see the plane on the moving map for about 1 second, every 20 seconds or so.

Which loggging options should I enable to debug?

PS I am also using the current version 4.852

Well, since it is a Lua plug-in operating this link, it would be the Lua debug option in the list of logging options. but please don't submit it to me. I won't know what to do with it. The Lua programming is quite complex and using components unknown to me.

You need really to contact the author of the plug-in, which i see is not officially supported by the OzRunways folks. The reason I'd never heard of it seems to be that it is an X-Plane add-on, not an FSX one.

I suspect it might simply be an installation error in your system (it doesn't look straightforward to set up), or a problem of performance. Have you got good frame rates in FSX?

I think I found the problem - network (or ipad) related

I switched the ipad from my 2.4gHz wifi network to my 5gHz wifi and it appeared to work. It seems ipad3 have issues on 2.4gHz networks. I found a long thread on an apple forum.

Now it is updating from FSX to Ozrunways and working as it should :) I hope this can help someone else if they ever experience it.

Hmm. Interesting. But I have an iPad 3 on my Network (definitely only 2.4GHz) which I do use with other FSX programs without any similar problems. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Glad you solved it though!

Pete
