Kevin_FS Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Hi, I'm having problems with my clouds that sink into the ocean and therefore I opened up a topic in the REX forum. They asked me to post a FSUIPC weather log, however I'm not sure where to find it. I found this on the forum here but I'm not sure if it's this log that I'm supposed to have: http://forum.simflig...ing-simconnect/
Pete Dowson Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 They asked me to post a FSUIPC weather log, however I'm not sure where to find it. FSUIPC options (Add-Ons menu, FSUIPC), Logging tab, tick the weather logging item on the left. Press OK. The weather data is logged into a file called FSUIPC4.LOG in the Modules folder. Pete
Kevin_FS Posted November 13, 2012 Author Report Posted November 13, 2012 Okay Pete, thanks alot for your help.
Kevin_FS Posted November 14, 2012 Author Report Posted November 14, 2012 Hi Pete, I ticked the weather logging item but I'm not able to find the FSUIPC4.LOG in the Modules folder.
Pete Dowson Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Hi Pete, I ticked the weather logging item but I'm not able to find the FSUIPC4.LOG in the Modules folder. FSUIPC always produces a log file, no matter what you do. It's right there alongside FSUIPC4.DLL and FSUIPC4.INI. If no Log and no INI files exist, then FSUIPC is not running and has never been run. Maybe you have Windows hiding filenames from you, and reporting Log files as "tet files" and INI files as "configuration settings"? Pete
Kevin_FS Posted November 14, 2012 Author Report Posted November 14, 2012 Thanks Pete, found it now, it was set as a textfile, i was looking for something named FSUIPC4.LOG but all is good now. Again Pete, thanks for your help.
Pete Dowson Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 found it now, it was set as a textfile, i was looking for something named FSUIPC4.LOG but all is good now. It is called that. it is Windows which is hiding things from you! If I were you I'd turn that option off -- Explorer menu - Tools - Folder Options - View tab - uncheck "hide extensions for known file types". The FSUIPC user guide advises this action too. Regards Pete
Kevin_FS Posted November 14, 2012 Author Report Posted November 14, 2012 Thanks for the info and clearing this out Pete, I changed the settings in the Explorer menu and now I see the ini & log files.
