Thrustmaster Hotas X view assignment in FSUIPC

Just wondering if any forum members have had any luck at assigning a smooth view to the coolie hat switch on the Thrustmaster Hotas X?

I would like to totally dump any FSX control of the joystick and throttle assignments but my attempts at assigning the VC view thru FSUIPC have been markedly inferior (jerky) to the FSX assignment. Maybe I'm missing something here?

How are you trying to assign? If it does look like a real "hat" ("POV" in DirectInput terms -- 'point of view' or something similar), then for the Virtual Cockpit panning action, assign it in the Axis assignments (NOT the Button assignments) to "PAN VIEW".

It will never be quite a smooth as the direct FS assignment because it has to go through SimConnect, which operates asynchronously, but it isn't at all bad.
