planenut Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 I am currently using a Saitek yoke and a CH throttle quadrant. I have one of the quadrants switches programmed to operate the landing gear but I would like to assign the Saitek throttle (which connects to the yoke) as the landing gear control. Can this be done in FSUIPC? I programmed the Saitek mixture control to use as a spoiler control and it works fine. I cannot, however, seem to be able to program the Saitek throttle lever to operate the gear. I use FSUIPC for all of my calibrations. Just would like to know if it is at all possible. Thanks Jim

Can this be done in FSUIPC? Yes, of course. In fact it is given as the example of how to use the "range" assignments facility in the Axes tab. Please look in the (seldom used?) FSUIPC User Guide, find the Axis Assignments chapter, and go down a two ro three pages or so till you get to the explanation of the right-hand side of the assignments tab, with exactly the example you seek. Pete
planenut Posted August 7, 2013 Author Report Posted August 7, 2013 Thanks Pete. My FSUIPC guide is not seldom used. Guess I didn't read it carefully enough. I'll delve into it again and see what I can glean from it. Jim
planenut Posted August 7, 2013 Author Report Posted August 7, 2013 Hi Pete, I can seem to set any axis I want except for the landing gear. The problem I am having is that there is no landing gear selection in the drop down list. I select Rescan, Send direct to FSUIC Calibration, move the lever, activate the drop down list but no gear selection. I've gone through the manual but can't find the solution to my problem. Do you have any more guidance for me. Thanks, Jim
planenut Posted August 7, 2013 Author Report Posted August 7, 2013 Hi Pete, Sorry. I just now discovered the exact reference on using "range" assignments that you tried to explain to me. Guess I couldn't see it for looking. I'll press on and try to follow directions this time. Jim
Pete Dowson Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 I've gone through the manual but can't find the solution to my problem. Do you have any more guidance for me. You've "gone through the manual" but apparently skipped the very example of exactly what you want to do? Did you not even try searching on the word "gear", which finds the right place immediately? In the current (4.91) copy of the FSUIPC4 UIser Guide the whole of page 44 is all abouty EXACTLY what you want to do. In the FSUIPC3 version its the whole of page 45. How could you miss out a whole page realting to exacvtly your need? I just now discovered the exact reference on using "range" assignments that you tried to explain to me. The reference with the gear up/down example? Pete
