Assignments lost

I've FsX and P3Dv2 too. I've installed FsUipc 923 version, but I've a problem: in FsX FsUipc rcognizes the aicrafts, but not the assignments of axis and buttons for the aicrafts! And there's nothing to do: I've had to make new assignments for each aicraft I use.

What's happened? I hope that FsUipc 924 works well and I haven't to make assignments again :)

You need to copy your fsuipc4.ini file from FSX modules folder to your P3D modules folder.

Thank you Andy, but I'm not speaking about P3D. I've told that suddenly in FSX , FsUipc doesn't recgonize the assignments.

Or do you mean that I've to copy the ini file in P3D to works in FsX?

What's happened? I hope that FsUipc 924 works well and I haven't to make assignments again :)

Installing new versions of FSUIPC doesn't touch any of your settings or assignments. They are stored in your FSUIPC4.INI file which isn't touched at all by any updates, ever. So it cannot be your updating which made the change. You've done something else. Perhaps you mistakenly deleted the files before installing the new version? You NEVER need to delete anything. Just run the update.

If you've lost your INI file and didn't think previously to make a backup then, yes, you will need to make your assignments again. They were all stored in that one file. Just back it up next time, and don't delete things unless you really want to get rid of them! ;-)

Thank you Pete, I know what you say, I never had problems updating FsUipc in the past, but this is what's happened with version 923. I don't know why, Maybe you're interested in knowing that strange thing.

No on commands work! Only after this, I've deleted from ini file (in Notepad) the old assignments of the aircrafts (only the aircrafts, not the general settings) to do the new assignments and now all is working. I've made a backup copy of the ini file before deleting assignments, however.

Perhaps you can show me the INI file which doesn't work and the new one that does, to see what the differences are. The only thing I can think is that the positions of the joysticks changes, so the joystick numbers were different. If you aren't using the joy lettering facility that would certainly mess things up.

Did you copy the original INI file over to P3D, or generate a new one there? If you didn't copy it, why not?

I'm in office now, the files are at home. I'll do it as soon as possibile.

I've only run the exe file of FsUipc as I've always done, nothing else! I've not copied the INI file in P3D, but I say again that the problem is in FsX, not in P3D, in P3D I've done nothing at the moment, just installed, no one settings in fsUipc neither assingments, and no one flight.

I wasn't implying otherwise! It was simply that if you had copied it you'd have had the backup to compare to prove it hadn't been changed!

No rush for files. It won't be anything I can do anything about, it will be something in your system. And I'm out this evening in any case. I was only interested in comparing the files so I could give you an explanation.

Well, the obvious problem is that moved moved the controls, or had some Windows update with a different USB driver. Look: this is the new setup for joystick connections:

See? The yoke was joystick 0 but now it is joystick 1.

If you want the ability for your settings to handle rearrangements of your controls you do really need to use the Joy Letters facility instead of numbers. You can make a start now. I suggest revising the new INI [JoyNames] section to be like this:
