naf125
Hello, I use FSUIPC for a while. But I have a problem with the button profiles. The specific axis profiles for the different aircraft's are stored properly. But for some reason I am not successful saving the button profiles. After starting FSX and loading the aircraft, I must manually select the button profile for a specific aircraft. And during a long haul I have to enter FSUIPC and select the profile again. What do I do wrong? Peter

There is no way FSUIPC "forgets" such things. Are you sure it isn't simply that your devices are going to sleep? Make sure that you disable power management by Windows on all your USB hub devices (in Device manager). There's a known problem with Win8 with controller devices becoming disconnected spontaneously. All entering those options in FSUIPC is doing is causing FSUIPC to rescan the devices and hence wke them up. Pete
naf125
Hello Pete, I'm using Windows7 64bit. I cannot find any options as you described. But I'm using Saitek Cyborg Evo Force. On the joystick there is also a blue light when it is powered on. This light stays on, so I guess the usb device is not going into a sleep mode. And when I load a specific aircraft, the axis profiles are automatic loaded. But I have to manually load the button profiles by clicking on the check box in the Buttons + switches and key presses menus. When I press on the check box, the correct profile (for instance a 737) is recognized an instantly loaded by FSUIPC. So I don't have to select a specific aircraft profile. Perhaps I send you the ini file? Peter

On the joystick there is also a blue light when it is powered on. This light stays on, so I guess the usb device is not going into a sleep mode. That doesn't necessarily follow. The options for power management are always there, in all versions of Windows. Go to the Windows device manager and look through all the properties of all the USB hub and other devices listed. There will be power management options on some of them, for sure, and Windows defaults them on. There is never any need to click on anything. With axes only the profile specific settings are ever loaded. With buttons and keys both the generic settings AND the specific settings are loaded. That is the only reason you don't see that checkbox ticked. With buttons and keys the specific settings simply override any similar settings in the generic sections. That isn't done with axes. It is this difference which is confusing you (but it is expalined in the user guide). So all you are teally doing is causing the re-scanning of the joystickk devices. Perhaps I send you the ini file? No. There is no point. There is nothing in there which will affect this. Regards Pete
