zoran1
Hi Im sure there is a logical explanation for this. My axis and joy config for my selected aircraft has reverted back to default. I noticed the default tab that I wouldn't have touched intentionally for obvious reasons. How is it possible that Im back to default mode? any ideas as I would like to avoid it happening in the future cheers
Pete Dowson
Hi Im sure there is a logical explanation for this. How is it possible that Im back to default mode? any ideas as I would like to avoid it happening in the future What context? Are you talking about FSUIPC? There's no "default" tab in FSUIPC so I'm confused. If you mean the Defaults button on the main About tab, that merely sets default weather and miscellaneous options, it doesn't touch any assignments or calibrations. What's "default mode"? FSUIPC certainly has no "default mode" for anything to do with axes, keys, buttons or calibrations. Pete
zoran1
Ah I see. Wrong default. Pete Dowson
my settings seem to have gone and the aircraft are no longer in the ini file see below FSUIPC never removes settings. It looks like you've got some older copy installed from somewhere? Certainly FSUIPC itself wouldn't have done it, it has no code to do deletions. I hope you have a backup. zoran1
Thats odd Ive never had another copy except the non paid versions. Its not all to bad as fortunately I only had 3 aircraft running axis only as Linda does everything else. I do have FSX backed up but I should keep a copy of the modules folder separate from now on. This a complete mystery . Even with UAC disabled I still struggle with Win7 for control of FSX. Could that be a possible cause? Any way thanks for the very quick support and I better get back to calibrating some controls ;-) Zoran
Andrew Kewley
I might be able to shed some light on this one.. Have you recently used software that cleans the junk files from your system? If so, I've found a couple of them see the FSUIPC config file as a "junk file". You'll need to exclude your FS folder from the scan.
zoran1
Thanks Andrew thats possible , Actually I just remembered , I used "eraser" and that would be it!! after using it I opened fsx and my autogen default files were gone completely and i couldn't work out what happened as they just cant vanish! Thanks for the heads up and 'eraser" is going out the door
