FSX Joystick Disconnect

Recommended Posts

Hi

Im using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick for FSX running on Windows 8.1. The joystick randomly disconnects and after reading other threads ive noticed that people have a solution that is to disable the joystick from FSX and assign it to FSUIPC4.

My problem is after i calibrate and assign all the controls on to FSUIPC4 and disable the 'controller' in FSX , the joystick doesn't work?

Please help me  :)

Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. Leaving the disable controller box checked I assumed that FSUIPC4 would override the FS settings, this didn't work either. I suffer from the disappearing controllers issue with Windoze 8 and after setting up some flight surfaces in FSUIPC4 I was doing a flight and lost my FS controllers. There was no response even though I thought I had set them up FSUIPC4.

I find the manual very confusing as there's nothing in the menu to indicate that the setting is saved, it seems like one has to hit OK and then restart FSUIPC4.

You need to assign BEFORE calibrating.

Perhaps the particular controls you assigned to aren't implemented in the specific add-on aircraft you are using?

without more information detailing exact;y what you are doing, I can't really help further. If you like you can paste your FSUIPC4.INI file here ad I can see from there what you have done.

The manual clearly states that to confirm changes you merely press OK. If you exit by 'Cancel' or pressing ESCape then settings are not changed. This is the way all Windows programs work and is quite sensible and normal. Why do you nee separate assurance? There is never EVER any need to "restart FSUIPC4", and in fact there is no way to do so without restarting FS itself.
