hurricane3 Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I recently had to reinstall FS9 for the millionth time and when I tried to install the latest version of Fsupic I get an error message saying it detects another version of Fsupic installed and then quits.I had this same problem on my last install and solved it by going to an older version but this time that doesn't work.I have checked all the dll's in the modules folder and there is nothing in there that says Fsupic.I tried to install version 3.999z2 then an older version ,the same one I had in my last install of FS9 and sometimes I can get to the Cessna at Seattle and if I then try to hit any of the option buttons at the top the sim goes to black screen and I have to ctrl+alt+delete to get back to desktop I would just do without Fsupic but I've already had a plane that made fs9 crash when it worked before so I'am assuming that because I don't have FsupicI have had to go into the modules folder and delete anything that says Fsupic and then FS9 runs but as I said there are some planes and scenery (I assume) that require it. Any ideas why it keeps thinking that an another version of Fsupic is installed when it's not?Are there files left behind that don't show,(I have show hidden files and folders checked).I'am running Windows 7, 64 bit.I'am on a separate HD from the OS (I have installed FS9 on my D drive ,outside of program files with UAC turned off,and running FS9 with Windows xp sp3 with run as administrator checked.)

Pete Dowson Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 when I tried to install the latest version of Fsupic I get an error message saying it detects another version of Fsupic installed and then quits. I had this same problem on my last install and solved it by going to an older version but this time that doesn't work.I There is no such message in the FSUIPC installer, and no way it simply quits. Please be more explicit about exactly what you are doing and what you see. I suspect you are not referring to the Installation instructions because otherwise you would have sent your request to the correct Forum and not had to rely on a supervisor moving it for you. The installer creates a log file saying EXACTLY what it does. It is either saved in the Modules folder or, if it cannot find FS at all, you can save it via the "File" menu entry in the logging window. I will need to see that if you have diffficulties. sometimes I can get to the Cessna at Seattle and if I then try to hit any of the option buttons at the top the sim goes to black screen and I have to ctrl+alt+delete to get back to desktop That is certainly nothing to do with FSUIPC. Any ideas why it keeps thinking that an another version of Fsupic is installed when it's not? The installer doesn't care at all about whether there is another FSUIPC installed. If the one already installed is an earlier one it replaces it otherwise it doesn't touch it, it simply carries on after telling you this. Pete
