FSUIPC Not Working

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently attempted to install the latest version of FSUIPC however it has not worked. I noticed it is trying to install relative to the administrator account named Andrew, not my account. The main reason for installing this version was FSUIPC was to resolve an issue with the Captainsim 757 and it rocking on autopilot. I already had a version of 4.9 installed to allow my VA's software to connect to FSX, however since running this latest version I can no longer fly for my VA. I have tried removing what traces of FSUIPC I can find and re-running the VA software installer (which includes FSUIPC) however this has not worked out either.

Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.93

I recently attempted to install the latest version of FSUIPC however it has not worked.

Please explain what you mean by "has not worked". The install log shows no problems. So where are you seeing one?

I noticed it is trying to install relative to the administrator account named Andrew, not my account.

It is installing into the Install location of your FSX, look:

     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0
     Parameter"SetupPath"
... >>>  OK! FOUND FSX!  <<< ...

and:

INSTALLATION FOR FSX:
SetupPath="C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\"
Checking version of the FSX EXE:
... Version 10.0.61637.0  (Need at least 10.0.60905.0)

showing installation in in the default place FSX gets into if you dn't select another.

The "Andrew" user is where your FSX.CFG and other files, including the vital DLL.XML are residing, thus:

Looking for the current user's Application Data path:
... found as "C:\Users\andrew\AppData\Roaming"
Now finding \Microsoft\FSX\FSX.CFG for all users, including this one
Looking in "C:\Users\andrew\AppData\Roaming"
Found FSX.CFG in "C:\Users\andrew\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\FSX.CFG"

and, as you can see, according to Windows, "Andrew" is the current user at the time of installation also. And it is where the FSX files are found.

The only odd thing is that you were previous using the FSUIPC4 loader, but now you've removed it. Did you find you needed it before?

Hi Pete,

The reason i am saying it has 'not worked' is because it is not loaded with FSX. The FSX.cfg for my account is located in my User folder. I learned that if I copied the FSUIPC entry from the DLL.XML in the "Andrew" user to the DLL.XML in my user FSUIPC is actually loaded. However now, upon starting FSX I am prompted with a message saying "Flight Simulator has detected an issue with an addon (FSUIPC4.dll), would you like to run this addon?" If I press yes, I get a fatal error, if I press no, FSX opens normally with no FSUIPC.
