davjones Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 I'm pretty sure no one will be overjoyed to see this post here, but I don't know where else to turn. SimMarket directly says on their site that they don't offer any support. Only that I should go to my Purchase History to find my key, which doesn't help because I already know it. Yes, what they have and what I have is the same key. It also matches what's in my FSUIPC.KEY file. All that happened is that I got a newer PC, installed FS9, installed FSUIPC, and failed trying to register it. All I get is the message that it's not a valid 12 character key, or very similar words. I was surprised, because I've upgraded PCs before and never had any problem using that key. Granted, it's 8 years old, but I don't think that should matter. It's version 3.71, if that makes any difference. I'm assuming that an internet connection is not needed? If I'm in the wrong place, my apologies -- please direct me to the right place; I don't know where else that might be. Was hoping to see the problem covered in the FAQ, but no joy. Thanks for your indulgence....DaveDave JonesFort McCoy, Florida
Ian P Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Hi Dave, Unfortunately Pete is away at the moment, so you'll have to put up with the forum admin instead of FSUIPC's developer trying to help for the moment... The key will work if it did before. They don't time out and work with all subversions of an FSUIPC version (i.e. FSUIPC3 keys will work with 3.anything) - the only reasons they would stop working is if ALL the information is not entered EXACTLY as it was when you purchased or if they are shared and thus manually blocked within the DLL by Pete. The reason I capitalise bits of that is the most common mistake when registering old keys is people who have changed e-mail address since and try to enter their new address. You need to use your old one. The other common mistakes are typographical. Can I suggest going back to your order page at simMarket and copying and pasting the registration information directly from there into the installer window? Post again and let us know how you get on with that, please? Cheers, Ian P.

Only up to date versions are supported -- you nbeed to download and install 3.999z8 or later. Pete
