FSUIPC vanished from FSX Addons drop down

Hi,

 

Just noticed this evening that WXLite and my virtual airline flight tracker/career monitor wouldn't connect to fsx - basically a cannot connect message from each. I checked the addons drop down menu and only Ultimate Traffic 2 is showing whereas previously I had FSUIPC showing there as well.

 

I have downloaded and installed to most recent incarnation of FSUIPC - 4.939n. This seemed to install ok - but FSUIPC is still not there and my peripherals are still not connecting.

 

Any light you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

There is nothing looking wrong in either of the files you show.

 

Perhaps there is an FSUIPC4.LOG file being produced which shows what the problem is? If not, then the most likely cause is that you have at some time refused permission for FSUIPC to load, and there's an entry in the FSX.CFG file which tells FSX not to load it? Check the [Trusted] section there

Thanks Pete. Bit of a mystery. I have copied [TRUSTED] below - can't see any thing though. Log file included as well.

 

The log file shows all was fine, but that was on 2nd May. Have you not tried since then?

 

Not sure why you want to paste the [Trusted] section, and it is too big for me to search through. Why not just delete it all?

Hi Pete,

 

Thanks again. Not sure if you meant to delete the entire [TRUSTED] section so I deleted the (4) instances of reference to FSUIPC I could find - copied the cfg first of course. Re-intalled the most recent FSUIPC - no change. It is not even appearing in fsx.cfg [TRUSTED]. Also, not asking me trust or otherwise on running FSX. Regarding the log file - that was the most recent one I could find in the Modules Folder in FSX. Haven't got a log file in there now - just another installer report.

 

The only other info I can supply is that I think this disappearance happened after:

  • Uninstalling and then re-installing my Flight1 ATR 72-500 from DVD following a botched livery addition using Text-o-Matic.
  • Installing then uninstalling Wilco Embraer jets from hard drive location.

Not sure of the relevance of these actions though.

Either. If any of them matterd it would only have meant you okaying trust confirmations.

- no change. It is not even appearing in fsx.cfg [TRUSTED]. Also, not asking me trust or otherwise on running FSX.

Okay. So three possibilities:

1. THere is an error in the DLL.XML file which I didn't spot, or

2. One or other of the modules loading is conflicting in some way (though this seems unlikely -- you should still get the trust question), or

3. There's something is the Registry or elsewhere which is telling SimConnect not to trust it.

To eliminate 1 and 2, please rename or save your DLL.XML file, then rerun the FSUIPC4 installer. It will create a new one with only it loading.

Okay. now what you should do, if you want the other stuff running again, is to add the entries from the old DLL.XML file, the one you saved or renamed, back to the new one, one at a time, testing by loading FS each time.

 

The sections are the parts between (and including) 

 <Launch.Addon> and

 </Launch.Addon>

 

add them before that last 

 

</SimBase.Document>

 

line. There's no need (and no point) adding any section which contains

 

<Disabled>True</Disabled>
