mickmac
Hello I know this issue has been raised before and I have read as much as I can to try to solve it but still getting nowhere. I am running FSX with FSUIPC and have recently added GSX for the ground control, hence the need to open doors. I have changed the key assignment to X in FSUIPC and it works with the main door BUT I can find no way of using an X+2 or X+3 combination to open any other doors. I've pressed X first, number first, both together, hold one down etc etc. I have today updated FSUIPC to the latest version. In the ini file I have tried the TimeToSelect at 4, -4, 1, -1 and pretty much anything else I could think of but none of this stops the main door opening as soon as I touch X. Any advice please Mick
Pete Dowson
I have changed the key assignment to X in FSUIPC and it works with the main door BUT I can find no way of using an X+2 or X+3 combination to open any other doors. If you are using keystrokes, why not assign in FS in any case? The use of programming keystrokes in FSUIPC is really for functions not assignable in FS. Anyway, in FSUIPC, if you've assigned to "toggle aircraft exit" then the best way is to enter the door number as the parameter -- i.e. 1, 2, 3 or 4. FS intself does not accept the normal 1,2,3,4 keypresses as such, they are actually invoking controls Select 1, Select 2, Select 3 and Select 4. You'd need to assign 2 controls (a matter of FSUIPC INI file editing) to the one keypress. Using the parameter is far easier. Pete
mickmac
Thanks Peter I am using FSUIPC because pretty much everything else I use switches and buttons but am assuming I can't for doors? So to use the parameters, do I need to make an entry in the Parameters box when assigning the progress, if so what? If I need to make extra lines in the fsuipc.uni file what are those lines please. Sorry if I'm being thick but I put it down to age! Thanks Mick
Pete Dowson
I am using FSUIPC because pretty much everything else I use switches and buttons but am assuming I can't for doors? Er, why are you assuming that? I use FSUIPC to assign buttons for doors! So to use the parameters, do I need to make an entry in the Parameters box when assigning the progress, if so what? Assigning "progress"? It sounds like you've not even used FSUIPC yet to assign buttons? Just go to the Buttons and Switches tab in FSUIPC Options, then press your button,, and in the dropdown for assignment assign to Toggle Aircraft exit, and in the parameter box enter the door number, 1, 2, 3 or 4. mickmac
Many, many thanks Pete. I have opening doors!!! and I now have them working on buttons too. I had never needed to use a parameter before, but how simple when you know how. Mick
