I'm trying to setup my Saitek X52 to toggle the taxi lights on/off and the landing lights.  I'm using fsuipc4 to do this.  I set button 12 to toggle taxi lights and button 13 for landing lights.  However, they don't work.  My other buttons work, elevator trim, landing gear, flaps, condition levers...  I don't know why I can't get these to work.  My pmdg 737, 777 work, as well as my small planes.  I've even tried offsets for them in fsuipc.  And I do have the register version of fsuipc.  I would appreciate any help.  I can still just click with the mouse.

I may be interfering here without much expertise, BUT, are you checking the lights from a Spot (outside) view or a Virtual Cockpit view?

I know that 2-D Cockpit views do not show the landing or taxi lights.

I also know the landing lights do not show on any default airplane in FSX (and probably P3D) in any view!

I can see these lights on the Prosim737 Jetstream Model v2 in Virtual Cockpit and Spot views, not in the 2-D cockpit view!

Just some thoughts.

As ammamalhas says, whether some lights work or not depend a lot on the modelling for that aircraft.

The first thing I should ask, though, is whether there are switches for these in that aircraft's cockpit? If so, can you switch them on there, with the mouse for instance? If so, when you use the FS toggle controls for them, do the switches operate in the cockpit?

If yes to both, then that's as much as you can expect the controls to do. Whether there's actually any lighting effects depends on the modelling.

If there are switches and you can operate them with the mouse but the controls don't change them, then maybe the model has implemented a different way of doing this, maybe a keyboard shortcut. If not you could try other ways, like mouse macros or using L:Vars.

I have the MJC Dash 8 Q400 pro.  Landing lights nor taxi lights come on when I push the buttons.  I only use VC and the switches don't move and in spot view, no lights come either.  I'm running FSX-SE on windows 10 64-bit with 16gig ram.

Hi,

The Dash Q400 is programmed in a way, that not the standard controls are used for these lights. You must create mouse macros and assign these macros to the buttons. As you typically have to click on several switches to turn all lights on, you might have to combine some of the mouse macros into a combined macro. This is documented in the Advanced User Guide of FSUIPC.
