speedbird144 Posted September 21, 2016 Report Posted September 21, 2016 Good day all. This is the first time I am trying to assign controls thru FSUIPC so I need some help please (I read the manual). I use option Send direct to FSUIPC calibration option. I disabled controls in FSX and deleted all controls command in FSX menu to avoid conflict. I have got new TQ from Flightsimpm and I am having issues to assign throttles. I was able to assign Flaps lever and spoilers lever so far but spoiler lever moves half of the range for some reason. Throttles levers are dead. Windows 10 shows that all axis are working fine full range but no luck on PMDG so far and even on default 737/777 as well. I am also confused about Idle setting in Joystick calibration tab. What value is suppose to be there and how to set it? I played with it and still no luck. Thanks for looking. speedbird144 Posted September 21, 2016 Author Report Posted September 21, 2016 Some progress here. Looks like I have to restart FSX-SE every time I assign axis, otherwise FSX does not see it. I was able to manage 1 throttle to work but still trying to get rid of small dead zone, I have to push throttles way forward to see the effect. second throttle is not working properly. Cannot figure out why. Still cannot achieve the same value for throttle 2 as it shown for throttle 1.

I was able to assign Flaps lever and spoilers lever so far but spoiler lever moves half of the range for some reason. Throttles levers are dead. These symptoms are normally results of bad calibration in Windows (use Windows controllers) or, sometimes, incorrect entries in the Registry. If the throttles are dead in default aircraft too, please see the FAQ subforum thread entitled "Fixing joystick connections not seen by FSUIPC ". Maybe also the thread " Some Saitek axes only provide partial movement " would be relevant to your spoilers. Also always check out your spoilers when in the air -- FS raises spoilers automatically if you are on the ground even with a small movement through the "arm" position. I'm pretty sure that with the PMDG 737NGX and 777X you have to assign only to the "Axis Throttle ..." FS controls and not calibrate. Those PMDG aircraft read the throttles directly and if you assign differently or calibrate in FSUIPC they will conflict. On the Pic on your second message it looks like you just haven't calibrated correctly. Please follow the step by step instructions in the FSUIPC user guide. But as I say, don't calibrate in FSUIPC for the PMDG aircraft. Pete
speedbird144 Posted September 21, 2016 Author Report Posted September 21, 2016 Thank you for the reply. I have deleted all TQ axis assignments in FSUIPC and just set them in FSX directly. Everything is working now. I left yoke and rudder pedals still assigned and calibrated via FSUIPC and it is working very well too, not sure if I have to assign yoke and pedals in FSX as I just did for throttles for PMDG aircraft, but yoke and pedals are working fine.
speedbird144 Posted October 3, 2016 Author Report Posted October 3, 2016 Pete. I need some advice again please. So I configured my new TQ (not Saitek) and it is working well with PMDG NG. As it was suggested I configured throttles, spoiler and flap levers inside of FSX. I had to tick checkboxes for flap and spoiler levers because their movement were backwards. So all looks good in NGX now. However TQ is not working well on other aircraft. I tried to use it on PMDG 777 and default 737 and the right throttle lever is working fine, the left throttle lever is not moving. When I push left throttle lever I see it tries to move but it stops right away. Flap and spoiler levers are moving backwards now. If I uncheck boxes for reverse movement in FSX control settings then flap and spoiler levers are moving in the right direction but they start moving backwards in NGX then. I tried to assign left throttle lever in FSUIPC and it started moving but at most forward position reverse lever on that left throttle activates. If I assign the right throttle via FSUIPC it does not work. I cannot figure if there is some sort of conflict somewhere and I deleted all surface assignments except those I use. I check all levers movement via Windows control and everything looks good.

Just ensure you only assign to the controls named "Axis ...", which is what FS would be doing, and do not calibrate in FSUIPC. NEVER assign in FSUIPC if you haven't disabled controllers in FS -- and vice versa. It's one or the other. or you will run into weird problems. Pete
speedbird144 Posted October 17, 2016 Author Report Posted October 17, 2016 Thank you. It is working now.
infopaghe@gmail.com Posted November 8, 2016 Report Posted November 8, 2016 HI Pete I have all Axis calibrated thru FSUIPC in the NGX and 777 and i never had a problem. What problems can u have ? Thanks Alfredo

What problems can u have ? I am told by users that the PMDG NGX and 777 have throttle systems which read the throttle axis more directly, not at the same level which FSUIPC's calibration routine is able to feed them to FS. This can cause conflicts where the two settings disagree. If the calibration pretty closely matches what the input would give directly in any case (for example, you've not done a lot, no slopes etc), then it might not be so noticeable. I don't know all this first hand, only from reports. Pete
