John888
I have the FSUIPC,version 4.957b and a Saitek Yoke and Rudder pedals. ( model PZ44 and PZ35 ) My aim is to be able to stop the aircraft PMDG-737 by pressing the foot brakes of my rudder pedal. So far I assigned a key board letter ( y ) which does the stopping. But how can I program FSUIPC to let me use the foot brakes of the rudder pedal ?? I appreciate your help John888
ThomasAH
The brakes are two axes, so you can assign them to AXIS_LEFT_BRAKE_SET and AXIS_RIGHT_BRAKE_SET.

I guess I still need more help.Let me tell you what I did : I clicked on Axis Assignment which opens two fields, called MOVE and LEVER. Pressing the left rudder pedal ( footbrake ) leads to Joy#0 and Axis#Y ( in the fields ) Then I click OK and repeat the process with the right foot pedal Result: no braking action takes place when pressing both pedals.I accelerate to about 30 knots and then step on the foot brakes.Nothing happens. Any idea why ? Is it necessary to have WideFS ? Thanks again John888
ThomasAH
WideFS is only needed if you want to connect the pedals to a second computer. Confirm that you are configuring the correct controller by looking at the values in FSUIPC. I can't provide more details at the moment, but whatever you configure should be visible in FSUIPC. If you still have problems, please post your FSUIPC4.ini and FSUIPC4.log files here.
Thomas Richter
Hi, when you look into you Modules folder (FS) there is the folder FSUIPC Documents and you will find there the FSUIPC4 User Guide.pdf file. Page 40 to 43 describes in detail how to define axis. BTW- From your description above you define the both axis, but to nothing? Thomas

Finally I figured it out how it works. But I wonder if it is okay because in order to brake ( using the foot pedals ) I just have to touch and immediately release the pedals. If I keep them pressed no braking occurs. I was under the impression the foot brakes have to be pressed until the aircraft comes to a stop. Do you know how it is in the real world ? Thomas Richter
Brakes work in relation to applied pressure. It sounds like you have the axis in reverse working, means you need to reverse the axes function in FSUIPC, by ticking the 'Rev' box for each axis. Thomas You are probably right, however I have no clue how to use the "Rev" box for each axis. Can you provide a short but precise explanation. Again, what I did was: Click Axis assignment, then press the left foot pedal which provides an entry Joy# 0 Axis # Y Then Send direct to FSUIPC,Select Left Brake, click OK Same for the right brake. Thomas Richter
Hi, back to the manual, page 45 to 47 (included) describes step by step the calibration process and also takes note of the Rev function. (Modules folder (FS) there is the folder FSUIPC Documents and you will find there the FSUIPC4 User Guide.pdf file) Thomas
