The current supported version, for the latest P3D3.4, is 4.958. Every time you update P3D always look for a new version of FSUIPC. It has to change each time. Maybe a sight of your FSUIPC4.INI file would be useful. And if you go to the logging tab and enable event logging, the log of you trying to use the trim would be good.
