Richard Collens Posted January 1, 2017 Report Posted January 1, 2017 Hi Pete Hope you had a restful holiday period and wish you a very Happy New Year. I have had a full version of FSUIPC installed for some time on my FSX (boxed) based system and everything has run perfectly hitherto. Recently however, I have started to get sporadic in game "freezes" i.e. not a CTD - a complete seizure with the only solution being a CTL-ALT-DELETE exit. An example Event log is as follows - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Application Hang" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1002</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>101</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2017-01-01T15:54:28.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>40286</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>AlpinePC</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data>fsx.exe</Data> <Data>10.0.61637.0</Data> <Data>1a58</Data> <Data>01d264456f8b016a</Data> <Data>237</Data> <Data>C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe</Data> <Data>78d3bdae-d03a-11e6-90df-94dbc9ed582a</Data> <Binary>55006E006B006E006F0077006E0000000000</Binary> </EventData> </Event> I am not aware that I have changed anything materially and these events have occurred in a variety of flight conditions and with different subject aircraft. I wondered if you had any ideas what might be causing this. Thanks in advance Richard

That sort of freeze is almost always due to driver problems -- nothing else has enough privilege to freeze or crash anything but that current process. For FSUIPC information you could see how far the FSUIPC log file got before the freeze occurred. Pete
Richard Collens Posted January 6, 2017 Author Report Posted January 6, 2017 Thanks Pete - I will go back to an earlier driver and see if that resolves it. Richard
