akstirling Posted August 27, 2018 Report Posted August 27, 2018 of everytime we re-install(or are forced to re-install as often happens) FSX or P3D we have to slog our way through replacing the default control bindings with our personal defaults .... how nice it'd be if it were simply a case of replacing, prior to first run of the sim, the fsuipc.cfg with our own saved version and hey presto instant control ... I for one'd love to know how much of my time throughout my simming career has been spent with this tiresome and surely avoidable maneouvre????
DaveG Posted August 27, 2018 Report Posted August 27, 2018 Erm, just backup your FSUIPC5.ini before updating. My ini had been with me since fsx days.
Pete Dowson Posted August 27, 2018 Report Posted August 27, 2018 As well as what Dave says (it is always wise to have backups of all settings for all programs), unless you are specifically deleting the Modules folder or the files in it, none of your FSUIPC related files are changed by any FSX or P3D re-install. Even an FSUIPC reinstall only replaces the DLL itself and updates the contents of the documents folder. So why are you creating more pain for yourself than necessary? Pete
akstirling Posted August 27, 2018 Author Report Posted August 27, 2018 must be some kind of glutton for punishment or a masochist at worst(makes note to visit appropriate health professional!) .... thanks for the enlightenment ...... Alan
