Reinstalling FSUIPC

Recommended Posts

I recently had to reinstall P3d v4 and FSUIPC along with a few addons. I initially had FSUIPC working fine, but now that I have reinstalled it and registerd it, every time I restart P3d, none of the options that I have selected stay checked. I have to recheck eveything each time. I even have a copy of 5.141e that I got from Hifi Studios support because I am having issues with Active Sky at the moment too. Any help would be nice. Please link me to the post if this has already been fixed. I apologize if this is the case.

Your settings are saved in the FSUIPC5.INI file ("configuration settings"),  in the same folder as FSUIPC itself (Modules). Take a look. There should also be an FSUIPC5.LOG file (the "text"file), and your registration.which is in FSUIPC5.KEY (maybe labelled as a Registry file, but it isn't).

If there are those files, show me your LOG and INI files please, as it would then probably be down to profile names.

If those don't exist, then the problem is that your P3D installation is in the Program Files folder (the default, but always best to be avoided), and you might have to run P3D "as administrator" to give it privileges. Alternatively, check the Properties of the Modules folder, and change the Security settings as follows:

(Note: the FSUIPC5 installer should have already done this, but perhaps you didn't run that "As Administrator", per instructions?).

Security tab -- Edit button, enter Everyone and confirm. then below check all "Allow" options.

Active Sky doesn't use FSUIPC in any case, and 5.141e is the latest interim update available here, in the Download Links subforum!

But maybe Active Sky also has problems with the security settings on your P3D folders. It is always best to install any Flight Sim outside of "Program Files". Mine are all on a separate partition altogether, P3D4 in "E:\Prepar3D v4".
