Trubshaw
Hello. I am new to the forum, thought I had posted this before, but may not have gone through. Two installs W10 and W7, using PFC Console ans Avionics Stack, the PFC driver keeps going off line in both systems. FSUIPC is version 4.9 with the PFC driver included in the package. The only way I detect the off line is when the transponder stops flashing. Then I use the FSUIPC hot key the bring it back on line, this works most of the time, but on occasions it does not. i then just open the FSUIPC dialogue box, close it and its back on line. Has anyone any ideas of the cause or fix for this , Alan

You probably posted to the wrong place. This is the support forum, here. The SubForums above all all specialised or reference forums only. ALWAYS post support questions in the support forum please. (John moved ths post here so I'd notice and deal with it). 15 hours ago, Trubshaw said: Two installs W10 and W7, using PFC Console ans Avionics Stack, the PFC driver keeps going off line in both systems. Are those devices COM port serial devices, using PFCFSX.DLL, or more modern USB ones using PFCHid.dll? If the former, how are you connecting the devices to the PC? If through one of those USB adapters, then that is likely the problem. When I tried those (and I went through several makes) they never worked reliably enough for the sort of traffic the devices impose. I now always use a PCI or PCI-E card providing an RS-232 socket on the back of the PC. The best make is Brainboxes, but there are cheaper ones which are probably just as good. If they are HID devices then I'm sorry, I've no idea. You might want to try different USB sockets, or a better powered hub. Pete
Trubshaw
Hello Peter. Thank you for your reply, I tried a different USB port but the problem remained, I then purchased a PCIE slot, Serial Port Board. Having looked on the internet i could only find Startec PCIE RS 232 16950 UART who actually quoted in the spec the chip used, Oxford Semiconductors, £50 including postage. My local PC Shop by chance had a Male to Female Comm lead, the only one, and happend to be Startec, let me have it for a fiver. Set it up and it’s cured all the problems, including the whole of FSX self switching controls and engines randomly on and off causing me to do a full restart. The PFC driver stays on line and I no longer have to use your Hot Key. I am very happy , thanks for your help. Alan
